Synergy Swim Buoy for Triathlon and Open Water Swimming

AND I feel safe and secure from any boat traffic while we make like mermaids...Paired with my Synergy Endorphin wet suit, a pod of Mer-friends, and the jewel of the Sierras Lake Tahoe the Synergy Swim Buoy has pretty much made our summer swims Spectacular!! I was initially pleased with the 28L bag. I swim twice a week in both fresh and saltwater around Seattle, and the valves on the bag are nice. I appreciate that they are one way which makes inflation simple, and large enough to grip with cold hands. The clear plastic window seemed like a gimmick, and quickly turned into the weak point of the bag. First of all, even if you plan on putting your phone in it, it's too narrow of an opening to fit any phone with a cover on it, and if you wear insulating gloves you'd have to take them off to use it. After 2 1/2 months of use the clear plastic tore at the seam with the bag and created a sizeable leak that soaked my clothes that were stashed inside. The only saving grace is that because it has dual bladders it didn't sink a mile from my entry point. I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone who actually wants something that lasts. I have other Synergy products for open water swimming and I've been pleased with them, so I really think it's just a bad product.

The inflation port. I really like the design and it seems so far to be a tough product. Hurry is still out as I add more swims but so far so good. I do wish the lanyard was just a tad longer. Doing a back stroke she will end up on top of your head lol. I do not remove a star for that. Good product so far so 5 it is

Very easy to inflate, has a one way valve for quick and easy inflation. This buoy has two compartments, with a clear window to the outside. Synergy says it is not waterproof so store your phone in separate waterproof container. I bought a large size so it is more visible. The material is of good quality and I love it.

Leaked through a small hole and salty water killed my phone

It's a great idea, but the bag will eventually leak at the seams where the clear plastic is. This has happened to me on two of these. Basically a design flaw.

I upgraded to the larger swim buoy bag to hold a small towel, flip flops, shirt and keys and glad that I did! Not only am I more visible in the water but I don’t have to leave anything alone in the beach when I go out for a swim. I love that my phone is visible and usable without removing...for photos or other uses while swimming or on my paddle board. Made really well and everything stays dry! I am fully self sufficient for my open water swims and feel safe for the busy days in the water that I will be seen!
