Not worth the money in its current form.
I factor in price and durability in my reviews. I am also a fan of the manufacturer Syma. It’s safe to say I have several rc helicopters in my collection, both indoor and outdoor flyers.Syma is known for having high quality, smooth flying and aesthetically pleasing helicopters. The s40 (this product) is a great flyer, but for 70 dollars, is not very durable. Here’s the thing, while it flies like a dream indoors, the design of the aircraft prevents it from being 5 stars. The helicopter provides two 220mah lipo batteries with a 1.25 micro JST connector. You can only charge these one at a time, and only while installed on the aircraft, not independently. So if you’re into the rc hobby and have extra 220mah (or slightly less mah) lipo batteries laying around, you won’t be able to use them because chances are they have a different connector (2p spade). Furthermore, the power cable inside the helicopter that connects to the battery has to be pulled out and handled quite often (when swapping batteries). There is no strain relief on the cable, meaning it connects directly to the circuit board with two solder joints, one solder joint for the negative wire and one for the positive, red wire. Anyway, solder joints should never be used to hold or secure a cable. You guessed it, with enough battery swapping the joints broke, rendering the aircraft (and its charging capabilities) useless. Luckily enough, I solder for a living and it was an easy fix but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place (poor design).Speaking of poor design, the search light on the nose of the aircraft is secured internally by a very weak piece of white tape. The search light led will be recessed internally after your first crash because it will most likely make contact with the floor. I fixed this by removing the weak piece of white tape and putting a piece of gorilla tape. Now every time you swap the battery, or crash for that matter, the light should stay in place. If you do not wish to do this, chances are you will knock that led loose just by swapping batteries eventually, no crash needed.I should mention that this flyer is advertised as an indoor/outdoor flyer. When it comes to flying outside, just don’t. It doesn’t have enough power to combat any wind. You’ll also mess it up pretty bad since the blades are fairly thin and any crash will most definitely leave indentations. This toy aircraft is fun, and the idea is there, it’s just not worth $70 for what you get. I’d pay $45 max for this knowing what I know, especially since I can name a handful of indoor flyers that are on the same level, if not better, for that price (especially here on Amazon).Syma, if you’re reading, please consider upgrading the s40 to justify the price tag of 70 dollars USD. Please consider reinforcing the solder joints with more solder, provide a strain relief loop for your power cable coming from the aircraft, consider doing away with the 1.25 micro JST connector so the batteries can be charged at a lipo battery charging station (2p spade) and please use a better adhesive to secure the search light on the nose of the aircraft. It literally disappears inside the aircraft after a crash. Overall three stars.

Nice four channel helicopter.
This is a nice little bird for a child or an adult who is a complete novice. It combines the easy of flying a coaxial helicopter (3.5 channels) with some of the full 4 channel helicopter's features. A regular coaxial helicopter can't move side to side like a 4 channel (flybarless) can. This adds bird adds that feature to an otherwise classic coaxial bird.

Another Fine product from Syma. I am always satisfied with anything from Syma.
I like everything about this R C Syma S 40 helicopter. It is great for flying around the house. I like the 4 channel, it controls very well, and is a lot of fun for children or adults. I like all of the Syma products. I have the S107G, the S37, the S39, and the S40. I would definitely purchase again.

Value for money is adequately good!
Overall durability , battery life and value for money is adequately good ! Enjoying to play with my grandson, easy to fly , yet missing sensors to avoid hitting walls and ceil in indoor fly , need to be very careful.

Very Fun and durable
The media could not be loaded. It is such a fun toy! At the first moment, it was hard to find the on/off in the helicopter because the button is small, but after that, we are having an amazing time playing with it. I prefer to play outside to have more space to fly. My 5-year old boy after 5 minutes was already a pro on it. For me, it took more time.I'm impressed that the toy is really durable and survives after many crashes. It flies really high!

This copter is for beginners
This is the copter everyone should start out using. It is VERY stable and the altitude hold is a welcome feature. It does not fly fast but extremely accurate. You can land it anywhere. I wish it came in more colors. It's a great buy for beginners like me.

Customer service is good
Product worked well for the first five flights surviving normal crashes hitting carpet, couches, rugs etc. however nothing “bad”. Last flight the throttle stuck and the heli hit the ceiling and crashed on the area rug. Now when you try and fly the heli, there is a couple second delay for all throttle activities and the delay is not consistent. As an engineer myself my thought is a board component on their pca or operating board came lose. Weak solder joint etc. looking for the company to replace heli and investigate why mine has an issue creating non-operable conditions.
