American Athletic Shoe Women's Soft Boot Hockey Skates

We bought these as we are not hockey players but love to get out and skate during the winter. My daughter is not a good skater at all so I didn't want to spend large amounts on the skates but something that would be better than the rentals. These fit the requirements. She has used them a few times and has really enjoyed them. They support her ankles great, are easy to stand and skate on for her. I saw a difference in her ability and confidence compared to rental skates when she started to use these.

My daughter loves these skates. She said they fit exactly as they should. The only issue is the laces are slippery so we will need to replace them so the skate stays tight to her ankles.

These skates are serving their purpose just great so far, recreational skating with son. Hadn't skated for decades and first time back, used rental skates to see if I could even do it. It was pretty fun and like they say about a person not being able to forget how to ride a bike, it came right back pretty much and was pretty fun. Only down side, I do think I'm going to need to burn the socks I wore. The rentals were pretty stinky and uncomfortable; it's probably pretty hard to keep a rented sport shoe clean.I also ordered this kind, (hockey?, can't see description as write review) without the toe pic because I figured I wouldn't be doing any double axels in near future, and the toe pics would probably just trip me up. The rented skates don't have a pic so you might want to call a skate shop but this is what I went with.I ordered these skates, they came quickly and the local skating rink and shop guy was kind enough to help me know if fit was correct. They sharpened blades and first time out I had them too tight around my ankles but they were great and even better second time.I am usually a ladies size 10 to 11, probably usually a 10.5. I got these skates in 10 and they seem to fit just right, toes barely grazing front and width fine though I have one more duck shaped foot. Anyway, the 10 is great. My foot standing up measures 10.5 inches long if that helps anyone.Have fun, pretty great exercise!Update: a few months later, still holding up fine from weekly skating. When I purchased these I didn't know if I'd skate alot or not. Am enjoying it and I think I might upgrade. These have been great to get me out there and motivated. Love not having to think about anything much while skating.

The actual skate is really nice! However, I got a size too big. I’m a size 8.5 and I ordered a size 10. Everyone said to go one size up, or it will be too small, so I didn’t only want to go up half a size. I’m returning them so I can get different skates. They are a little bulky tho, and did NOT come in the right color. Not as cute as the picture :( I was v disappointed lol. But why did I rate 5 stars if I was disappointed? Lol. I’m rating 5 stars because the actual skates themselves are VERY VERY VERY COMFY!!! If you get them the right size, and you are worried about your feet hurting while skating, by all means get these skates!! Just because they didn’t fit based on the reviews I read and the color was wrong doesn’t mean the skates themselves are bad! It’s a little bit of false advertising on the color, cuz that’s why I initially chose these skates.

A few things I didn't like: not sharpened when they arrived, just kind of a big boxy shoe, and sizing was way off. I'm a standard US Women's 8.5/ EU size 39 so, according to what I read in reviews, I ordered a size 9 in these skates. Even with thick socks on, there was at least 1/2"-3/4" extra space in the shoe, which seems really unsafe. Also a strong synthetic smell out of the box, and overall just didn't like the looks of these. Returning, and will not be purchasing another pair.

These fit as expected if you read the other reviews and follow their size chart. Unlike standard hockey skates, you DO NOT size down, but rather size up one from your normal shoe size.I bought these specifically for the laces/Velcro at the ankle combo. It makes for a very secure fit.Others stated these arrived pre-sharpened. Mine, however, not certainly did not. This was a $5 fix at my local rink, but for the inaccuracy in product description I dock 1 Star (I’d only knock off a half star if that were an option because these are otherwise stellar.)Perfect for a skating enthusiast who prefers hockey over figure skates.

I saw that some people recieved skates with different design but mine came in just like the picture! I read the reviews and got one size bigger and they fit perfectly. I skated with them today and they have so much ankle support! I noticed that the knuckle of my right big toe is a bit sore but I'm just breaking them in so I don't mind it.

The boot is very comfortable and well made. Just slightly too big (I ordered a half size up per reviews of the boot running too small) I feel like I should have ordered my normal boot size. Nonetheless, they get the job done. Also, they are a bit hard to tie tightly so there's some lack of stability in the ankle. I'm not out doing anything crazy, just leisurely skating so it's not that big of a deal.
