8Bitdo N30 2.4Ghz Wireless Mouse for PC Windows and macOS

I love this. When I first pushed the red buttons I didn’t think I’d like it, no clicks, the shape feels funny at first, so does the directional pad. The sensor portion between the red buttons works perfectly. After an hour or so I realized I was using seamlessly. The A / B buttons are perfect, I used the d-pad more than I thought I would. I use it at work, so it gets a good workout. I love the NES vibe. I have several of 8Bitdo controllers as well, they never strikeout!

This is a chunky mouse. It should be, since it is reminiscent of the NES era of its giant, mostly empty-space console mentor. It has good tracking, the buttons feel responsive, but unlike most mouse buttons, they don't feel "integrated" into the shell itself, and as such have a different travel and orientation to get used to. It's easy to get used to them though. The "controller" side joypad is a letdown though. You have no subtlety to the movement, and other than fwd/back, the "scroll" is wanting and difficult to make any sort of precision, unlike an actual mouse wheel. I don't recommend this if you smaller hands or shorter fingers. It won't feel comfortable. My hands are barely considered "medium", and this mouse feels like I'm 10 years old again. Other than that, this is a lovingly tribute to the NES that no nostalgic 80's kid should be without.

This mouse while not extremely comfortable, which it doesn't look in the pictures anyway, is very cool and performs very well. All my friends thought it looked cheaply made, but after holding it and pushing the buttons appreciated its glory. Upon telling them the scroll wheel was touch, it put the icing on the cake for them. The reason I upped it to a 5 star from a 4 because of it being uncomfortable, is because I dropped mine outside coming in from my car last night and unfortunately it rained last night. The mouse didn't care, I got all the water out of the main body and tried some movement to make sure it wasn't dead and she acted like it was never wet at all. If you like the feel of old game controllers, which we all know were not perfectly designed for human hands (looking at you nintendo) then this is the mouse for you. The tactile feel of the right and left click and convenience of the Dpad have made it my daily driver for anything but the hardiest of gaming.

Firstly, its not the greatest mouse I've ever used. The button's are meh, especially the left click button, as for those style of buttons are meant to be pressed straight down and not at an angle that your fingers typically sit and press into larger/flexible mouse buttons. And the 3D touch panel for the middle scroll wheel is absolutely trash. It doesn't scroll smoothly, it stutters and keeps scrolling after removing my finger, and half the time it just doesn't work. That being said, I enjoy the mouse, its basic functions work fine, and its unique and quirky. I'm probably going to pick up a different mouse that I can use for proper gaming. The lack of a middle mouse click button is a bit irritating, as well as not being able to remap any buttons either, but it was again a bit on the cheaper side, so I'm not too put off by the lack of features. Overall, for a gaming mouse, I wouldn't recommend. But as a fun little novelty for those who are into retro stuff, its not bad. *UPDATE* I've had to knock a star off the rating because of the middle scroll touch pad having completely failed. It would malfunction and just wildly scroll up and down with out me even touching it, and would be so much worse if I did touch it and wouldn't stop till I turned the mouse off and on again. I reeeeeeally wanted to like this mouse, and I do like the aesthetics of it, but cant excuse the shoddy option for a scroll "wheel" replacement and the lack of a middle click button which seems to be almost ubiquitous with mice these days.

8Bitdo if you read this - I think this is an incredible first step. Is it perffect? Nah not all. Definitely room to grow and I hope this isn't a one time thing (I personally would love to see an SNES inspired version). Plain and simple this is a fun nostalgic mouse meant to be an everyday consumer fun doodad trinket to have. If you have HIGH expectations for the mouse and it's capabilities you will be disappointed. When I saw this I was stoked! There is so much potential for them to do this and do it even better! Could you imagine if they went with a PMW3330 or 3360 sensor? Added a start and select button for DPI and Profiles? Maybe even made an 8Bit - 8Bitdo UI where you could change polling rates to 1k? - Assign macros? What I see is potential for bringing jam up nostalgia like 8Bitdo always does - to a slightly different market. The capacitive scroll wheel is an excellent idea but it falls a little short in practical use. Often it misses and doesn't register the scroll - but more often it over or under scrolls. The hard edge design to keep with the feel of the NES controller is at times not very comfortable - but worth it. I won't mark it less than 5 because they need all the kudos and props to keep this journey up. DO IT 8Bitdo!

Extremely comfortable in hand and satisfying to use. The button click is tactile and smooth, but really quiet. All d-pad side buttons work great!

Looks great. That's where the positives end. I read other reviews and should have listened. While it does technically work, it is clumsy to use, uncomfortable and impractical for every day use. I used it for almost 5 hours at work and hated every moment of it. Don't ignore the reviews as I did. Immediate return.

If you love retro styling like I do and grew up with Nintendo, then this mouse looks absolutely superb. It's also very functional, but really more suited to casual/less frequent users. If you spend all day using a mouse or you want a mouse for PC gaming, then this mouse will fail the ergonomic test badly, hence why I'm dropping a star. I love this mouse because it controls a desktop PC that I only use to start a movie, watch Youtube or maybe look up something on the web while I'm working on my other desktop PC. There was an adjustment period getting use to using buttons for the left and right mouse click instead of having a whole left and right clickable area. But I absolutely love the look of this mouse, especially when it's next to my 8BitDo Retro 108 NES-themed Mechanical Keyboard. If you're a heavy user of the mouse and want a mouse with NES theming, I'd probably consider shelling out for the 8BitDo Retro R8 Mouse N Edition. The price differential is painful, but I think you'll probably be better off in the long run. That mouse seems much more ergonomic and functional for heavy users. But for casual users, this mouse is definitely 5-Star if you like retro NES theming.

Is limited to 1000dpi, but is very nice great for old schoolers 🤪

This mouse has mixed reviews so I didn't pick it up for a long time, but finally I caved because I didn't want it to disappear because I'd feel like I missed out. Right out of the box, you can tell it's well made, especially for the price. And it looks killer next to the NES themed keyboard - which is really why I bought it. Is it an amazing $200 gaming mouse? No. Is it better than a lot of mice in it's price range? Absolutely. Does it look boss? You better believe it.
