600 Wet-Or-Dry Sandpaper 5/Pk, 5 PACK

This is not United States 600 grit!!! These sheets are stamped with the European designation P600, equivalent to about 380 to 440 grit depending upon who you consult. This is Extra Fine, not Ultra Fine as it is labeled. See[...]Update: My link was removed, but any search for P600 vs 600 will result in the same information. Also know that Norton 48058 Sandwet 5-Pack Sandpaper 600 Grit (as of this date) is actually 600 grit (as defined by the US standard -- CAMI).

The picture of this 3M sandpaper on Amazon says 600 grit, "ultra fine." But there is no explanation, or a picture of the back of the package, revealing the grit to be P600. The letter P (printed on the back of the paper but not the front that Amazon shows) stands for the European standard of grit measurement. P600 is about the same 400 in the U.S. standard. They call that "ultra fine", a term with no standard meaning. If you really want U.S. 400 when you order 600, this product looks fine to me, but I wanted 600 when I ordered 600. This product's description is false and misleading.

Nice sandpaper, for some reason in my area I can't find 600 in the stores only 400 and 800 nothing in between.

Do not buy the off brand sandpaper! One sheet of this outlasts 5 sheets of the cheap stuff. I know because I have used all of them. You can tell if you will have problems by folding a piece of sandpaper. If grit comes off, it probably will do so while sanding and scratch your project. This is the best sandpaper I have used.

Was expecting something a little easier to use, that was maybe 2 pieces. This is a solid piece with two flaps that open on either end, with 3 nails that hold the sand paper in place.

Next to impossible to find at retail stores. I use it for guitar fret finishing. Must have.

Sand glued to heavy paper. Kind of hard to mess that up..

use these to sand wooden pens on the lathe.
