I am 78 years old and impressing my younger friends with this La Crosse weather station. It is really neat.
I purchased my V-40 Pro Weather Station from Amazon at a very good price. Other stations, with fewer features, cost much more. I am VERY pleased. The setup, using the La Crosse View app, (on an iPhone 7 Plus), went very well. Before you start, read the instructions carefully and be patient. It might take a while for it to complete. The station's display is bright, colorful and easy to read. Today, I purchased three additional LTV-TH3 sensors from La Crosse. Using the La Crosse View App, I can now monitor five different indoor/outdoor locations for temp/humidity, and my back yard wind direction/speed and rainfall. The app is simple to use and quite impressive. I was able to label the location and type of each individual sensor. Examples: Front Door (Temperature - Humidity); Patio (Temperature -Humidity); Kitchen (Temperature - Humidity); Rear Yard (Rainfall - Wind speed). And, I added pictures of my front door, patio, kitchen, etc.. I love it. I bring up the app and swipe horizontally to see each individual sensor's information and related picture. For more detailed information, I swipe vertically on each. Simple and fun.

Wish wind speed was constant monitoring
I bought this to replace old weather station. I am pleased overall and it seems to work well and is accurate. The major thing I don’t like is that it must remain plugged in to power. I would prefer adding more batteries and not be tethered to a cord. The only other thing I have noticed is the wind speed is not real time. What I mean is the sensor for wind only transmits every twenty seconds. The down side of that is a true gust of wind is here and gone before information is sent to the base. For the price it is a nice unit and seems well built

3rd Unit... Disappointed.... 4th Unit on the way
The biggest problem is the lack of CUSTOMER SERVICE... 4 calls, no call back. The directions for installing the unit may as well been written in a language that I do not understand... Called in 3 weeks ago, C/B came today..... Had this unit, seems like forever... Amazon's refund policy is as bad as LaCrosse Technologies. Neither will refund what I spent for a defective unit !!! No one cares.... LaCrosse Technologies is now my last choice for any instruments. They used to be so dependable, now the only thing you can depend on is the unit not being accurate

Caution: wifi bugs on setup make it difficult but after that hurdle it has been a decent product so far
The setup of this unit is highly dependent upon what wifi router you are using in your location. If you have a dual band (2.4 and 5GHz) router that uses the same name for both bands (like the netgear orbi) you will struggle with the setup like I did. The panel only supports 2.4GHz and the app relays the info of which network your phone is connected to to the panel. If your phone is using the 5GHz band that info will be sent to the panel and the setup in the app will fail with a completely unhelpful error message. The way around this was for me to setup an old 2.4GHz access point to the same network, switch my phone to use that, then setup the panel in the app and it worked on the first try.Professionally speaking, this is a critical bug with their system that should be fixed but their Tier 2 support denied existed. This is the first app based setup of a 2.4GHz-only device that I ever had problems with to the point I had to contact anyone's support.

Easy setup, accurate readings.
This was a piece of cake to set up. I like the idea of a separate temperature sensor; allowed me to mount it in a shady, protected carport in the opposite direction of the wind/rain sensor mount. I make a practice of downloading the user manual, in this case, 24 pages. Well written, easily understood. Came in handy when I had to zero out the rain gauge; took less than a minute. All the sensors appear to work fine. Took just a little bit of getting used to using the app downloaded to my cell phone to set up the system. My only very minor complaint (not enough to lower the five star rating) is where the forecast weather module is getting its information. By putting in my ZIP code, I think the forecast source station has its thermometer in the sun because it is consistently 9-12 degrees warmer than our temperature in the shade. Living near the coast we have a quite stable temperature range and the temperature on my unit is within a degree or two of nearby Weather Underground stations. I highly recommend this weather station to other potential users.

Fairly easy to set up, no problems so far.
Update. The rain and wind instrument is unusable. The battery terminals and wiring basically disintegrated. Not caused by battery leakage. Batteries were fine. Unfortunately, my wife disposed of it before I took a picture. Still use the display in the house for temperature and forecast from internet connection. The rain gage lasted about 1 year. Wind speed went out when the wiring crumbled.Simple to set up if you watch the YouTube videos showing you how. Watch the videos all the way through and install the app before installing batteries or power supply. Turn off the 5 Ghz WiFi also so that it does not interfere with setup or make sure ut has a different name than the 2.5 Ghz WiFi. Took about 5 minutes to setup and another 5 to setup the weather underground app. Then it took about 5 hours for my station to show up as a choice on the weather underground app.The only complaint I have at this point is the rod used to mount the rain/wind sensors is not a standard size so the mounting hole on the bottom of the sensors will not take a standard conduit or pipe. It is close to a 3/4 inch but not exactly. Thus, you must use the provided mounting rod. Will update after 2 months or if problems occur.

Now disappointed
I was initially happy with the V40 but, after a year, have grown disenchanted with it. Of course, just after the warranty expired, I had to replace the rain/wind outdoor unit. However, what is most frustrating is the lack of software support (or the ability to have someone who can provide decent software support). Numerous complaints to their help desk don’t even get answered and when they do a software update the results are disastrous ! The last update now has the app totally nonfunctional. The main monitor randomly loses internet connectivity takes forever to restore. To those of you who (like me) initially loved this device, you are in for a rude awakening down the line especially, at the end of warranty!

Excelente.
The media could not be loaded.

Started well and then WiFi/Internet connectivity stopped working after 10 months
The weather station worked well for 10 months and then WiFi/internet stopped working. Contacted LaCrosse customer support (in Canada/US) who were helpful and provided troubleshooting steps that didn't resolve the issue. They suggested returning the product via Amazon.com.au.Hopefully somebody is reading this as I've still not been able to resolve the issue through Amazon - I've got a faulty weather station that was good for a while and I can't use it now.
