College Algebra (6th Edition)

This book helped prepare me to take College Algebra after not taking any math classes for about 15 years. There is a section at the beginning with pre-requisite math and exercises. I did the whole section. I’m also finding the book useful in explaining things that my school textbook skims over.

Came quickly and just as expected! Excellent experience!

Awesome book for college algebra. I suggest renting it, not buying it. KEEP THE BOX IT CAME IN SO YOU CAN SHIP BACK JUST AS EASILY. IF RENTING IT, THERE IS NO ACCESS CODE. I knew this going in so wasn't caught off guard. I just wanted to have the book. If you're not so good at math, like myself, READ THE FULL BOOK & EXAMPLES. College Algebra is not easy so work on it everyday! Don't be scared!

I order this book for my college class Math 124 and I bought it new as I like to write in my books and leave little memos for myself when I go back and study. Overall the book has a lot of math problems to solve and get practice from and if you don’t understand the problems the book provides readings and explanations alongside examples on how to solve most problems in it. My main issue with this textbook is that I bought it new but received it dented around the corners, but I didn’t return it as I needed it for my class and it arrived the day before the professor was doing a graded check to see if we had our books.

Blitzer is a great author and the book was very user friendly for a person who sucks at Math. The ordering / shipping department for Amazon is the best. I received my book on time and I sent it back with no problems. What a great peace of mind.

I bought this new from Amazon Prime, it arrived very quickly (and on a Sunday!), although it arrived with some cover wear/tear, and I really thought that this included (for the price of $170) an access code to "MyMathLab". But alas, the pages (as far as I can tell) do seem new and unmarked, and was able to use to book for its intended purpose.

At first I was pleased with my book... even excited because I got a deal on renting the book for about $17. Unfortunately I get to section 2.7 on inverse sections. And I'm trying to follow along in class and realize I'm missing 33pages! The entire section on inverse functions and part of Ch.3 are completely missing out of the book. There isn't any evidence that they were even ever there. I thought I got a deal, but ended up just embarrassing myself in front of the class when I tried to speak out. WOW.
