ReSound Unite™ TV Streamer 2

I am so happy with this product I had to review it right away. I had been using resound multi mic to pick up the tv sound but finally had to replace it so I got the TV Streamer 2. The sound is stereo and crystal clear. It took me a bit to figure out the setup but it ended up being so easy. I just plugged in to the optical out on my audio receiver to the device. Paired first try and wa-la. Others can set the tv volume to their liking and it doesn’t change what I hear. I use my resound app on my iPhone to control it so if you have the app you don’t need the remote. I can walk into the other room and even outside and still hear it clearly. This is worth the price. (Update: device stopped working the next day; trouble shooting found it was the cheap usb adapter that came with the unit. Replaced all is well again.)

This thing is amazing with one small drawback. I cannot lower the volume in the app. As some have mentioned here that the pairing was a problem, I want to make it known I had no problem at all pairing. Follow the instructions. Don’t skip thinking you don’t neeeed no stinking instructions. Do that? You’ll be golden!

Rechargeable hearing aids may not pair following the instructions that come with the streamer. Call the factor number on the back of the instruction booklet. Representative was able to quickly walk me through an alternate procedure that paired the first try.

This thing works excellent. My wife can now watch television was the volume of the way she wants it and I can watch it the way I want it. I can even watch TV with the sound bar turned off and hear it perfectly in my hearing aids.

If you can figure out how to get it set up, you may like it.It has a pair process similar to doing bluetooth pairing - but without any useful visual indicators whatsoever. Even the most primitive of devices I have paired in the past at least had some kind of documented visual "success" indicator. (Like maybe the blinking pairing light would change its pattern or change its color to indicate a successful paring - but not so with this device.)It is equally non-intuitive to figure out how to turn on and off the "connection" between the TV streamer and the hearing aid. (It's not hard to do once you figure it out.) And the instructions we could find online for how to do that did not work.

I had thought about this purchase for awhile. Wearing hearing aides I enjoy using them as ear buds on my iphone. This was described as a "marriage saver" purchase by a friend. It is terrific! I definitely would purchase again though it is expensive . I bought the remote but the iphone app makes it unnecessary. Hardest part was figuring out how to turn it on after installing it on the tv. Youtube came to the rescue and a new app that included the tv setting. It is used every day. It can be used to watch tv together or solo without the sound disturbing others. I can't say enough good things about this product.

Unite was easy to install as advertised. But, I could not get it synchronized to my television, even after calling the company for help. Also, the sound was absolutely horrible, I guess hearing aids are not exactly high end speakers. after spending $400.00 for the resound Unite, I believe that it would be better to spend about $40.00 for a Bluetooth transmitter for my television and just using my Bluetooth headphones. Which I am going to do.

This device arrived with defective input setting for optical cable. Device itself works when connected in a different way. This is second one of these I've purchased and they really work great and are game changers. My low rating is for non-existent customer support when I complained that it arrived defective, never heard back from this sellter.
