Sold buy! Easy to install.
Heavy-duty product; it keeps my gate closed and pet safe inside the yard. Very happy with this product.

Solid hinges - too short mounting screws
The self closing aspect of these hinges, worked well. The dual adjustments also or a great benefit. The mounting screws provided with the hinges or just over an inch and significantly inadequate, particularly for a heavier gate in which the hinges were rated. We experienced some heavy wind and the gate was blown out and the screws pulled out of the 4 x 4 post.

Worked Great... For About 2-4 Months... Completely Failed at Around 6 Months.
Worked great... For about 2-4 months! I installed the "Safetech Hardware CoilKlik Self Closing Vinyl Gate Hinges" on a, Lightwieght Vinyl Gate. I first tried the self closing CoilKlick at the lowest setting (15%). It was just barely closing, but not fully engaging the latch. So, I went up to the next setting (30%). That appeared to be okay, it was now closing, and latching. I thought I was all set. Then, over about the next 2 months, it gradually lost tension. I went up to the next setting (45%). Again, that adjustment appeared to be okay. Again, I thought I was all set. But! The same thing happened! Over about the next 2 months, it gradually lost tension. This time, before going to the final CoilKlick maximum (60%). I reset the coil tension back to zero. Then I tried each setting to see if the lower ones might work this time, before going to the maximum. The lower settings did not work. I reluctantly went to the maximum setting. Can you guess what happened next! If you guessed that it lost all tension, AGAIN, after about a 2 month period. You guessed correctly! I installed these on May 18, 2022. Today, November 4, 2022; I attempted to start all over again by doing another coil tension reset. However, this time, the coils would not reset (the mechanism appears to be seized). I'm then thinking, perhaps if I just relieve the coil tension from the maximum setting, it should reset. When I attempted to turn the Hex Keyhole adjustment (just to relieve some pressure on the coil). I could not do this. Because. After so many times of having to increase the tension by turning that soft plastic with the metal Hex Key (or Allen Wrench), that soft plastic Hex Keyhole, is now stripped and unable to be turned. In summary: I got just under 6 months use out of this product. Now I have to go through the trouble of having to rehang my gate. AGAIN! After less than 6 months! This is unacceptable! I hope that someone at Saftetech actually reads these reviews and does the right thing by giving me a FULL refund. My next step is to see how long that takes. If, that happens, and, if that happens quick. I will be giving a much better review than this one for Safetech's Customer Service. The timer starts, NOWโฆ The clock is ticking! Do the right thing Safetech. I am patiently awaiting your response and my refund.

Almost exactly 1 year and no spring return.
I now would join the chorus of people telling you to avoid these hinges. Adjustable, yes and look nice. Durability no. A few days after one year and now no spring return. Adjust per directions with the included tool proved of no use. Sure take off your gate hinges (I have 2 gates so no gates installed while they are sent in) send them in pre-paid and wait to see if they decide if they will warranty? There are others with the same complaint, so I have little confidence in the replacement. Will be looking for another solution.

Broken within 48 hours of installation
Installed with great care on a wooden gate and post in a domestic setting. Gate weighs 74lbs well within capacity. Checked with manufacturer, Safetech who confirmed suitability. Initially functioned well, but within 48 Hours internal elements of the plastic moulding had broken and no longer functioned. Very disappointing as new hand crafted customised gate now has screw holes evident where unusable hinges have been removed. Avoid purchase. Not suitable for purpose.

So far so good...
Well, I received these a week ago and finally got around to installing them. Now I'm one of those that reads manuals and researches instructions all the time. First, I watched the gentleman install on a small gate and read all the instructions. He made it look real easy on a small gate but if it's a larger gate, well you're going to need help. They look and feel very solid but installing them on a PVC fence requires larger and longer screws. They provide you with 1" screws which may be good for wood or metal but not adequate for PVC which need to reach 2 or 3 layers of PVC panels. I didn't read any of the reviews and noticed some criticism after the fact. The spring mechanism seems good but I'll wait awhile to see if it lasts. My originals were "TruClose" and lasted me 20 years. I live in a really wintery climate with lots of snow. I don't feel good about the holes leading to the screws and mechanism. In my view there should be some sort of rubber covering to block the holes from the winter climate. Anyway, so far so good but we'll see. I'll update this review later down the road.
