3rd book in bottle trilogy
This is the last chapter in the bottle trilogy. Covers the western United States and the history of the wagon trains going to California. Historically fascinating with the personal tale of young Otto, a newly arrived Russian immigrant to New York. Somehow, fate hooks him up to a lady and her bottle. Now the bottle is passed forward so it can guide Otto west as a wrangler on a good sized wagon train and its experienced wagon master. Once your are involved in the story you can't put it down. Enjoy.

An exciting adventure of a young Russian immigrant and his adventures traveling with a wagon train
Oh my gosh I’m so sad I finished this book. It was so very interesting and such an easy read. The authors knowledge and detail of characters and description of events were amazing. I almost felt like I was on the wagon train with Otto a Russian Immigrant and his companions. It was exciting and I could hardly wait to read about his travels & adventures the next time I picked up the book. I would recommend this book to any one who likes a really great story.

The Amethyst Bottle: another wonderful adventure in this amazing magical series.
The Amethyst Bottle by Linda Shields Allison takes us on an epic journey by wagon train across America to California. The rich historical details, the story telling, and the characters we meet along the way sensitively reveals to the reader the hardship and challenges of such an arduous trip.I particularly enjoyed the friendship between Otto and Gray Owl and also with Mac: they learn so much from each other about different religions, customs, traditions and language. A heartwarming feature of the book is trust , love and experiences they share.Linda Shields Allison is excellent at interweaving the lives of individuals into the tapestry of American history and her stories can be enjoyed by readers of all ages.A rattling good ride and I can not wait to see how the next protagonist in the series Yah Ying embraces the spirit and energy of her bottle and the life journey it takes her on.
