I'm on the fence about these, still a lot of cumbersome weight to carry, too loud
These seem well crafted and do what they're supposed to, but are loud, even with extensive modifications (stealth strips, camo tape & etc), and are hard to carry as a bundle, or bound to your lonewolf stand. I'd give them 3.5 stars, particularly as you can only give whole numbers, nobody is going to read this if I give them a 4, and I have to rate the product according to whether it achieves the benefit it promises, not just that it's well constructed. They do open up opportunities to do run and gun style hunting, allow you to get into unusual trees/situations, but are not so good that they make the demise of fixed stands a fait accompli. You will still take a long time to get up the tree in situations you couldn't otherwise get up without this style of stick and risk making a bunch of noise, so allow ample time and go slow and quiet. There is no good way to carry them, the included strap does nothing to hold them together, stacking them and wrapping them tight with their own straps requires perfect alignment and even then can be hit or miss, can easily collapse into a jumble. Using the quiver is even worse, see my review on that, don't buy it. These make getting in and out of the woods quietly difficult, particularly when navigating thick cover.I am not saying anybody else's similar product is better, just that these are no stealth panacea for the run and gun hunter. If you want to climb anything but a climber-stand-approved telephone pole tree, you'd better be carrying two linemen's belts or a 2-in-1 belt with you as well, so you can navigate limbs on the way up without disconnecting from the tree. That's a lot of extra weight, and a lot of extra time required to get into the tree.If you are trying to make one trip up the tree you also have to rig these up chained to hang from your harness or other connection point in a way that they don't clang together or clang against their own or other stick's buckles on the way up.It is really fast to get out of a tree with these, but that's offset by the amount of time it takes to get them properly secured and mounted to exit the woods once you get to the bottom of the tree.If they nested easier or faster (I know how to do it, but it takes a long time and isn't bulletproof) and had some built in stealth features I might rate them higher.

Great way to climb a tree.
I use a tree saddle for hunting and prefer run and gun type hunting (mostly because I don't get a lot of scouting time), so wanted something that was easy to carry and climb a tree with quickly. I previously used the stepladder system but it was everything but quick and overall kind of a hassle for me. I still use the wild edge steps for a platform or a little extra height but for the majority of my climbing I use these. They are super easy to use and lock on to every tree I've hung them on wet and dry. Compared to my climbing stand which didn't get much use this year I would say they take a similar amount of time from finding a tree to getting into your hunting position. A huge plus is you can pick just about any tree you want. They were also a lot quieter than my climber through the whole hunting process from walking into the woods to getting out of the woods. These steps and the tree saddle more or less replaced my climber. I'll keep it if somebody else wants to use it, but I'm done with it.Climbing height, you'll get roughly the length of the stick plus the distance from the bottom of your foot to your knee, at least that was my experience using a lineman's belt while climbing.Using soft soled shoes (muck boots) your feet will get sore if you spend a significant amount of time standing on one step. Overall I think these sticks are tough to beat and are a very useful piece of hunting gear.

Hard to go wrong with these sticks
Seem like great climbing sticks. They are easy to use and self explanatory. The pivoting bracket that bites into the tree really bites. I was using a single stick to set some trail cameras and some of the trees were not the straightest. I set the stick climbed up to set the camera and zero movement of the stick. When i loosened the strap and removed it the stick was still holding to the tree pretty securely, had to give it a little tug to get it off. The weight is right on at 2.5 lbs per stick (this does not however include the straps that are .5lbs per). These sticks are a little pricey, i was between these and the Hawk sticks but didn't want to deal with trying to find an individual stick for them. I got the 4 pack and with the sticks and 2 webbing straps for the bottom two sticks i am confident i can get 18 to 20 feet in the tree. i do wish these stick had some kind of padding where they touch when packing them up. They fit nicely together but do make that metal on metal sound if you don't strap them well or when you are laying them on top of one another for packing out. A thin 3 inch by one inch strip of felt could keep a lot of this noise down where the bolt hits the stick it is laying on.

Great product.
Just awesome used a full season on public land have 5 sticks got me up to 20ish ft comfortably in a pine left 2 sticks up and just put other sticks up when I used that stand. Sketchy on first use but dont worry it's safe. Use a safety line. And linemans rope during first install with stand. Helps remembering which way you had the steps to where you step off into the stand. but easily movable when going up if necessary.

Light, fast but honestly kinda scary at times
The steps are very easy to catch your foot on and poor from the level to the vertical position with your toe. The step are sharp which is great for grabbing the sole of your boot but pretty tough on cold dry hands. Bring or wear padded gloves. Also while the part that actually touches the tree is awesome, if you ya e bigger feet be aware the steps are only about 3-4” away from the tree so you have to turn your foot out to make sure you get good purchase on the step. Which can make you catch your foot on the next step causing the issue above.I’d love if the steps would lock into place some how.
