Perfect!
Perfect for upgrading my niece’s 2017 MacBook Pro 13 inch (non-Touch Bar) from 128gb to 512gb. I used this Samsung SSD from Amazon for only $49.00 It was a simple installation. Finished by using a Monterey usb boot drive to do a fresh install of the operating system. Amazon link to Samsung SSD: https://a.co/d/atd4rgS

More than expected.!!
I had my doubts about buying this item. This review is a year later since I bought it. It is working great I didn't had any issues installing it. Now my 2017 Macbook Pro has a 1TB ssd drive and it is running smooth. I had not experienced any issues after installation.

Great for expand my MacBook Pro 2017
I just bought a MacBook Pro 2017 with only 128MB SSD, for me that's not even close to be enough, so I check on the internet the best way to grow my space, since apple doesn't want you to upgrade your equipment, I lost many hours looking for a solution that suit on my device, so in found this:Sintech M.2 NVMe 2230/2242 - Tarjeta SSD para actualizar MacBook PRO A1708 modelos de barras no táctiles (finales de 2016-mediados de 2017 año)Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2242 DRAM menos baja potencia interna SSD de alto rendimiento (SB-1342-1TB)This to items together do the job quite well, know I have a MacBook Pro with 1TB SSD, faster than before with just $150

Product Works As Intended.
I am writing this product to ensure that if you are looking for an adapter for a Sabrent 512GB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2242 DRAM-Less Low Power Internal High Performance SSD, this product works very well for a A1708 Mac Book pro. I can not speak for any other computer. I am writing this product as a thank you to those who posted their reviews to guide me in the right direction. You're welcome!

this actually worked
I was able to use this with Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2242 DRAM-Less Low Power Internal High Performance SSD (SB-1342-1TB) (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XVTRFF8?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details), which is a two-sided drive. I have to upgrade the MacOS to Monterey, before copying the drive, because the older Catalina OS did not recognize the drive once installed when I tried the first time.

Sleep did not work!!!!
I was overjoyed to finally have the chance to upgrade my 2017 MBP 256gb drive to a 2tb, I bought this adapter and the Sabrent rocket. Everything installed and worked great except the laptop would not sleep properly. When I had the laptop unplugged and shut my battery went from 100% charge to 37% in less than 24 hours with no use. Very disappointed, not sure if I want to spend the money on an used Apple branded own drive. I really hate Apple now.

Works but with current Mac OS it’s hit or miss
I don’t know if anyone knows this but with Catalina and Big Sur, there’s a huge change in the OS with hard drive format and file system and other OS stuff. If your own installation or upgrade from your PC isn’t perfect, the provided software from Apple App Store to make a bootable OS is useless. I ended up buying a new drive pre-installed with a pristine and perfect OS from a “place”. Not to say this product won’t work. I did use this adapter with a Samsung drive and it worked, I just couldn’t get the OS to install on the drive because my own update via Apple from Catalina or Big Sur was a mess (even though it runs). Not criticizing this product, just cautioning.
