What is tje length of the towel bar, outward from it's swivel point?

From pivot to end of bar, the bar(s) is 11”. We tri-fold a bath towel on it, which works nicely. If you double folded (lengthwise) a bath-size towel, it would hang off the end by a few inches. It is a VERY nice towel bar so hope it works for you. Good luck!

What is the weight limit on each rod? We have large towels that are quite heavy after use.

I don't know. It is sturdy. However, We were surprised on the size. The arms are small and so it would be difficult to hang large towel without folding it at least twice.

Could you hang clothes on hangers in the laundry room bedore taking them to the closets?

No, I do not think it is strong enough.
