Mask Ear Rope Extenders Adjustment Buckle Black 4 Pcs

The media could not be loaded.  So if anyone has worn a N95 mask, they know that these masks are very tight against the face and therefore leaves marks. I think we’ve all seen the images on the news of healthcare workers with indentations and marks all over their nose and face after a day of work.Because N95 masks are meant to fit tightly, there is a lot of pull on the ears. Some people have no problems with the extra pulling on the ears. For those who are looking for an alternative to long hours without a mask pulling on theirs ears, something like this seems to be a good alternative.So this mask extender has a pair of hooks to hook on each side of a mask’s ear loop. Then you press the button on the cinch to unlock the tightening button, then pull it to wear it shorter until your mask is snug. Then you let go of the button and the button is supposed to lock and stay in place.But here’s the problem, the button does NOT lock the extender in place. The video shows how easily the cinch slides without even pressing the button to unlock.So after I got it into place, it slowly slid down until the mask fell off my face. Sigh!Also, for most medical masks, the loops are thin enough to fit in the loop (see pic). But for some fabric or some Disney masks, the ear loops may be too thick to fit in the hooks. You can try to loop it around the hook but then it will be extra bulky behind the head and make wearing a mask.Good idea but poor execution. Maybe I just got a bad batch? But all four in the package were extremely loose and none locked into place tight enough to keep the mask close to my face.I was really hoping this would work but unfortunately will be returning it immediately. Hope this review helps someone from having to go through the same thing.

Until I discovered a fix, this would have been a 1 star review. If you hook the mask and then fold the hook over and hook it into the silicone sleeve, it will stay closed (see my picture). If you are using disposable masks and need to change them, it does take time. So, you either have to have a 2nd strap with you or be in an area where you can spend 5 minutes or so rigging your next mask.

If you want to wear some better masks with filters but maybe not the big white n95's, you can find some masks like the Halolife Halomask, or the Honeywell mask, but they have earloops rather than headbands. Even though their filters might possibly pass n95 ratings the masks would never be approved officially since earloop masks can't provide a good enough seal. These mask ear extenders are great adding the extra pressure/seal that could perhaps improve the seal on these earloop masks. Better would be N95's/KN95's but if you can't or don't want to wear those try some of the filter masks with these extenders/tightners.

I admit to not realizing how the little silicone piece fit over the plastic to hold them on the masks, but once I figured it out, it’s been perfect since. They don’t get caught in my daughter’s hair. Simple enough for a 6-yr old to tighten and long enough to hang around her neck at lunch, etc. I don’t take them off every day, it pretty much just gets washed with the masks, so seems study enough in the lingerie bag I use for masks.

These work great! I purchased some cloth face masks where the ear bands were too tight. The strap keeps the mask in place and is adjustable.

hated wearing any mask before purchases this, it takes the uncomfortable pressure off your ear! love the adjustability (for different fits ie: if you wanna pull your mask down to sip a drink or take a bit of food and slip your mask back on lol) great product.. changed how I feel about wearing a mask all day! i always recommend them

Great product. Only thing I would change is that the mask strap doesn't lock into place. People around me keep asking where I got it. If your masks cut into your ears, this is the best adjustable alternative.

I've used one of these several times a week for about 5 months, and it's been great. It reduces strain on the back of my ears (I'm an average-sized adult male). Would (will) buy again.
