Wife Wanted A Hammock... I Chose This One - Best Present Ever
For Mother's Day this year, my wife told me she wanted a hammock. For some reason she had a thought of the time when we were on our honeymoon and the resort we stayed at had hand woven hammocks for every room's balcony/patio. So around that same time, we started looking around locally. We even went to a local craft fair and found these beautiful hand woven hammocks for sale... the problem was that the local seller wanted $160 for just the hammock alone. Another problem that I didn't realize until actually measuring is that the our deck/patio at home didn't have any place to mount a hammock. There's also not very many mature trees in our backyard, so going the hammock tree straps "route" wasn't going to work either. That's when I started looking around online for a hammock with a metal stand. That's when I found this one. I will admit that the reason I ended up choosing this hammock was based on: 1. It was the #1 Best Seller in Hammocks on Amazon 2. It hand an unusually high amount of 5-star reviews. After reading probably about a dozen reviews, I ended up picking a color that matched our house & patio decor. Then the rest is history... All I can say is that this is an amazing hammock and the hardware is fantastic. On Mother's Day, my wife literally spent all day laying in it, napping, watching TV, etc in it. She said it was one of the best presents I've ever gotten her. The hammock itself is very strong and my wife actually likes it better than the handwoven ones. Particularly because it's just one big sheet. Handwoven hammocks made in a "net style" end up being uncomfortable over time with each cord pressing onto your skin. The Vivere is basically a thick sheet/blanket that cocoons itself around you (very comfortably). The stand is just simply genius and can be set up within 5 minutes by 1 person. It's very sturdy and testing the hammock attached to it, my wife and I were able to swing in it without problems. I know that the instruction sheet says not to use it as a swing, but it was sturdy enough to moderately swing in it. I also wanted to add that the instructions mention that the hammock will sag over time (obviously over normal usage & wear). When that happens, you can adjust the hooks to "raise" the hammock higher to prevent your butt from touching the floor/stand bar. At the lowest setting, it was able to accommodate me (203 lbs) but my wife said it was too low. By raising the hook to the next setting, it raised the hammock bed higher. This is a wonderful idea that extends the longevity of your hammock. The carrying case that comes with it is a very nice touch. What it does is allow you to make your hammock portable (think picnics, camping, or simply just resting outdoors) or allows you to store it safely. On top of that, add the 1 year manufacturer warranty, this thing truly is a 5-star relaxing setup!

Best Hammock Stand!
After researching for hours about different hammock stands, we chose to get this one. We are so glad we did! It is super easy to put up and take down--this can even be done by just one person. This was important to us because we were looking for one that we could take places with us, as well as, set up in our home and outside our home. It comes with a carrying case so it is easily portable. The zippers on the carrying case have leather tabs which broke off on the first time we zipped it. However, the zippers still work and can be used, so although disappointing, it is not a big deal. The other great feature of this stand is that it fits so many different types and lengths of hammocks. We have 4 hammocks--2 nylon camping styles, a rope hammock, and the canvas hammock that this stand came with. They are all different lengths ranging from 9' to 12' and they all work great with the various hook placements you can use along the stand. One of the holes on one side of the stand is not drilled wide enough so can't be used, but all the rest work fine. Another amazing thing about this product is that the price includes a hammock! There are so many different kinds of hammocks and fabrics and colors to chose from. We chose a canvas material and it is comfortable and very wide. You can wrap yourself up in the material or have two people in it at a time. We love this hammock! It is our favorite hammock out of the ones we already owned. Both the hammock and the stand are very sturdy. We are super happy with our purchase and hope to enjoy this for years to come!

Easy to put together great size looks durable
Okay so I ordered this for my husband who has back issues, I made sure I read all the reviews good and bad and watched the videos on youtube. I think for under $130 this hammock stand is well worth the price. I searched around for other hammocks and none seemed to meet my needs or budget. When the box came in it felt heavy and I did get a little worry about being able to travel with it. I had seen on Youtube how to assemble it and I thought I would give it a try before reading the instructions... sure enough it took me 12 minutes to put together by myself. Things you should know: 1.) When the stand is put together it doesn't seem like the hammock, washer and hook will work past the first top hole, so I placed the hammock in the first top hole sat down and sank immediately. The hammock stretched a little and I decided to try and stretch it to the second hole. I put it on the second hole and layer down I was only about 6 inches off the floor and it seemed like it needed to be pulled tighter but the hammock needed a little stretching so I layer there a little while longer. After a while the hammock stretched out enough to be able to put it in the third hole and now it feels perfect. 2.) If you are tall you should lay on it diagonally. Actually if you are any size laying on it diagonally will feel more comfortable ( I learned this trick after much research online). If you are tall, however, your head may hit the washer (I'm talking about taller than 6 and a half feet tall) This problem was solved by laying on it a little diagonally. 3.)The actual hammock seemed like a heavy cotton which I loved. I wasn't expecting it to be that thick. You can feel that it will last forever. It is really big my husband is 6 feet 2 and about 230lbs and he can lay in it and still wrap the hammock over his body. I don't think it will be comfortable for two adults to lay in there not even skinny people because of the way the hammock is made. You would need a hammock with a stick on the ends for that. I can lay comfortably in the hammock with both my kids (girls) and we still have room to spare. 4)*** NOT so great --> after I assembled the hammock I looked at the instructions twice to make sure I did everything right and sure enough it was really easy, BUT the frame didn't seem to be aligned very well. The leg lifted on one end for a while but after we used the hammock it straightened out. 5.) It did come with a big black bag looks just like my camping tent bag. Everything fit in there nicely, it is a bit heavy but I plan only on taking it with us for camping so it's not like I'll be hiking with it on my back for long periods. I'm not sure how long this hammock will last the frame is steel and it seems real sturdy but it was also really cheap and I live by the motto "you get what you payed for." So since a $1,000 dollar hammock wasn't in my budget this seems to be the perfect option for my budget. I feel like I got a great deal and that it was well worth the price. It's a huge hammock and my husband loves it. I would recommend this to a friend and I'm crossing my fingers that it will last a long time.

Great hammock and seller
This hammock and the seller are excellent. First, the hammock. I grew up on "American" hammocks (the design with the wooden spreader bar at each end) so I was a bit dubious of this design. But after some research and realizing that pretty much the rest of world uses this design (and often as their primary sleeping location) I decided to give it a try. I absolutely love it! It is amazingly comfortable and very cozy. But it might not be for everyone. The American design lays much flatter (and is also much easier to flip out of) and allows one to lay there while socializing with others nearby. This hammock envelops you in a cocoon or perhaps cradle-like environment. I find the latter very comfortable and a great way to relax. But if socializing with others while using the hammock is your goal, this might not be the best choice. Also, this style is a little harder to get out of. It is not bad (I am a middle aged out of shape person and have little problem) but I can imagine that an elderly person or someone with certain physical limitations may have an issue. And finally, this is advertised as a double hammock. But its design means that both people sort of sag to the middle. This can be very nice and intimate or it may feel crowded. It depends on your goals. If those caveats are not a problem for you then otherwise this hammock is excellent. The hammock itself appears to be excellent quality material and I think the frame will last for many, many years (perhaps longer than me with care). The entire setup is super easy to setup and breakdown and the carrying bag means this is something I can easily travel with (camping, beach trip, or just visiting someone without a guest room?) Now for the seller. They have been wonderful to deal with. Within hours after ordering the seller contacted me to tell me that the specific color I ordered was not available. They told me they only had one left in the warehouse and upon inspection it was damaged. They gave me the option of a refund, back order, or choosing another color. I know from painful experience that many sellers would have simply sent the damaged product anyway (either because they didn't pay attention or just didn't care). I was thankful for this seller's quick and honest communication. After choosing another color I received my hammock quickly, it was well packaged and damage free. Interestingly, I ended up receiving the color I originally asked for. I guess they worked to find a solution to the problem I inspected the product in great detail and found not even the slightest flaw. I could not be any more pleased with my experience with this transaction.

10 years later and still sleeping in it every night!
About a decade ago, I replaced my traditional mattress bed with a hammock and never looked back. This is the hammock stand I have been hanging my hammocks on and sleeping in every night for 10 years. The stand is sturdy, stable and easy to put together with no tools. It comes with a carrying bag that holds the whole setup and has the instructions sewn on the outside. It's not a small bag, nor is it light, but you could easily put it in a trunk or backseat. My only complaint is that depending on where your weight is in the hammock, the hammock ropes may rub against the wingnut and/or bolt that comes through the frame. I solved this by using some neoprene rubber from a mouse pad to fashion a washer that I put on the outside of the stand to take up some extra length on the hook bolt and screwed the wingnut down accordingly. I've noticed on newer models, the design had changed slightly and this is no longer an issue. I highly recommend this setup. I love that it can accommodate hammocks of different lengths and is so compact, sturdy and easy to assemble. The stand alone is worth the purchase price! Edit 10/22/15: I've had this product for 2 1/2 years now and wanted to report back on it. The stand is still in excellent condition despite the damp Northwest weather, and is still in daily use. In fact, at least three other people I know of have bought this combo to replace a mattress setup at home and are still, to my knowledge, using it happily. Since I bought this setup it's also been through many moves, been used as a guest bed, loved by cats, and survived some...dynamic forces for which it was probably not intended! It's been rock solid with over 400 lbs in it. I've used this stand with the hammock it came with, as well as nylon camping hammocks, and the range of adjustability has made it easy. I've retired the original hammock it came with, since it's pretty much blown out after a hard life, and am replacing it with a homemade tablecloth hammock. I've since learned more about hammocks and can add the caveat that no matter the length of the hammock you use in this stand, you will have a 9ft ridgeline and roughly a 4ft hang height, so the ability to fine tune your sag is a bit limited. That said, you can adjust the hammock length by adjusting where you hang it on the stand, so you have some wiggle room, and the hang angle that's built in is pretty close to 30 degrees to my eye. I see this stand continuing to serve me for a long time. It's a great portable hammock solution and the easiest way to have a hammock in an apartment or small space. The stand still comes apart and sets up easily, even if it's been left set up for a while. I do recommend using a tiny bit of grease on the threads of the bolt if you want to make sure they don't seize up. Update: 12/08/18 Yup, still using this hammock stand and still sleeping in it every night. I'm on my third hammock bed now and think this stand might last forever. Still no signs of rust, despite the North West damp and no signs of wear. I've moved houses several times. I've stored it in a storage unit that wasn't climate controlled for a couple weeks during winter and both the stand and bag show no signs of mildew. I've attached both steel and aluminum carabiners to the hooks with no problems. I thought by now that the rubber end caps, the curved washers, or the plastic hand bolts would have broken, but the hardware is still in great shape. I've also converted another person into a full-time hammock sleeper after they tried mine out and they're using this same stand happily and they weigh about 300 lbs. Just buy it. Update 11/28/21: What do you know? Still using this hammock stand every night and loving it! It's been about 10 years and all the hardware is in great shape and it's just as sturdy as ever. I've converted at least 4 other people to full time indoor hanging and to my knowledge, all are still happily using this stand with no issues. I've learned so much about hammocks now and can add that if you're over 6ft tall, depending on how you sleep, you may not get the flattest diagonal lay on this stand because the ridgeline is limited to 9ft. For that reason, at a certain point extra hammock width will not matter, so I wouldn't bother with a hammock bigger then a double as you'll just have extra fabric in your face. I've had pets, partners and friends hang with me, including tall folks and big folks. I've broken down and reassembled it countless times. I've moved it and stored it in damp places. I've subjected the stand to vigorous adult activities with no failures (of the stand, anyway!). I've used a wide variety of hammocks on it, and even added an underquilt to my current setup. I've built blanket forts over it because I'm an adult and I do what I want. I've never left it outdoors in the rain, so I can't speak to that, but I've used it in every other way imaginable. I even tried switching to some indoor-specific wall anchors for my full time hanging and came right back to this hammock stand. This stand is, without a doubt, the easiest way to hang a hammock indoors, whether full time or intermittently. If you have a 9ft by 4ft space, you can have blissful hammock hangs anytime you like, for years to come. Just buy the darn thing!

Good Quality Construction. Comfortable for Sleep.
Very good quality. Easy to assemble. I was able to put it together, by myself, within 20 minutes of taking it out of the box. The one sheet instruction guide could, however, be a bit more helpful. This is a very comfortable hammock. I'm not sure I would feel so comfortable with another person resting in it with me, but it certainly can accommodate two. As some other reviewers have done, I purchased this to serve as my main bed. My sleep pattern has definitely improved. I am waking up more refreshed, and medically speaking, I have noticed far less problems with swelling in my legs, ankles, and feet. I have also noted a big improvement in the way my back feels in the morning. I continue to monitor the stitching at the ends for any signs of early breakdown as a result of daily use for 6 to 8 or more hours each night. So far all is intact and demonstrates quality in its construction. I appreciate the ability to adjust the placement of the ends as the fabric stretches. Two small caveats to mention. 1) I am 5' 7". To get out of this hammock I find it is helpful to have a small footstool available. I could lower the overall depth of the hammock, but I have found that to do so reduces my overall comfort when sleeping. 2) Another reviewer mentioned an odor. There was a slight odor that came from the inside of the tubing when I first took the product out of the box it came in. Perhaps my olfactory sense has dulled over the years, but while it was mildly unpleasant for a few nights, IF I placed my nose right up to where the tubing opened, the odor dissipated by the end of night three. If you are very sensitive to odors, however, be aware this might be of concern for you. Overall this really is a Five Star product, but leaving room for perhaps a future revision that would allow the overall footprint of the frame to be adjustable up to a foot smaller, I will go with 4 stars. It is also nice to know you can purchase replacement hammocks, if needed. I plan on picking up a few more of these to function as guest beds, or for sleep overs when my grandchildren visit.

A hammock in my living room = happy kids :-)
Couldn't believe the price when I saw this, nor that it sets up in only a few minutes...but it does! I was able to set it up all by myself. I don't think I even needed any tools. We bought this to use as an adjunct to my son's occupational therapy and we all had fun with it. The kids and I had a blast rocking in it and they even slept in it a few nights. We all rocked back and forth with no worries or feelings of shakiness, falling apart, etc. Very sturdy! I love that the instructions are on the carry bag (covered with a vinyl window, no less!) and that I could carry it in the bag without collapsing under the weight. (But be warned - it is not light as a feather, either!) Not as spacious as with the full-size stand but still room for 2 kids or an adult and 2 kids (ages 10 & 14, but a little small for their ages), or 2 average adults. If you're 6ft tall, you might want the full-size stand, though. Will make a great addition to future camping trips and so portable, I'm tempted to take it to sporting practice in the spring. (If I gotta be there, why not in style? :-) It has stretched some since we first used it, but we merely moved the metal 'loops' at the ends to lower hooks which raised the hammock bottom to a suitable level. Another note, we chose the tropical pattern, which made the hammock very affordable - didn't cost much more than the stand itself does if purchased separately. I think it looks much better than the more durable outdoor fabric option (whatever it was called). But the tropical pattern (as stated) can't be left outside in inclement weather. But I'm not sure the stand should be left outside in such weather, either. I don't think it's made of stainless steel, and after seeing my outdoor swing rust to pieces, I'd rather not be so wasteful. It just makes sense that it will last longer if you keep it inside until use, and it's so easy to set up & take down, it should not be a deterrent to frequent use inside or out. So compact, you may stick it in the closet & forget you have it! I may have to stick a reminder in my phone to bring it out & use it more regularly. Perhaps in front of (but not near) the fireplace this winter... :-)

HAMMOCK AS BED REPLACEMENT - FOR REALS
This is hands down the best purchase I have made in YEARS. I use this hammock as my bed replacement and I have never looked back. As a matter of fact, I still snuggle in every night and have myself a little contented sigh of GRATITUDE because I KNOW I will sleep well. I don't mean sleep like a baby (right!) I mean sleep like a teenager at noon. Mouth open, drooling and totally OUT. THE HAMMOCK The hammock is made of cotton. It is thick but not stiff like grandpaw's old tarp. It is soft and sturdy. THE STAND The stand goes together with some wingnuts, no tools necessary. Takes 5 minutes tops. The hammock and stand is rated up to 450 pounds and me, my husband and my teenage daughter put it to the test. Not even a groan from the stand. What was weird was we were also comfortable all piled in there. The hammock gives here and there keeping things from getting squished. The stand is compact and I sleep with it pushed all the way against the wall and I do not have a problem banging my head. HOW TO SLEEP IN THE HAMMOCK I have read other reviews where people complained about the center of the hammock being tight or stiff which is the nature of the hammock. You do not lie in straight down the center of the hammock to sleep. (However, that is where I like to read.) To sleep you get in and scoot your shoulders one direction and your legs the other so that you are at a diagonal in the hammock. When you do that the center does not fill tight or stiff anymore. One small pillow to go behind your knees and one tiny pillow (or rolled up towel) to support the curve of your neck and your are good to go. AGE, CREAKY JOINTS AND OTHER CALAMITIES I have a multitude of problems with bad shoulders, neck, knees, freaking awesome menopause. This hammock took care of the sleep issues I had with my maladies. My shoulders and neck do not hurt anymore and my knees don't wake me up hurting either. Menopause? Still enjoying the mood swings but what I do not do is overheat in my hammock. I have had nights where I went from bed to couch to spare bedroom to air mattress, to refrigerator, outside... heating up everything I laid on. Oh yeah, and sweating like I work on a banana farm. The hammock BREATHES and I do not jump up on fire anymore. This is getting long, but if you are still here I will tell you that I used to sleep on my Sleep Number mattress with 4 pillows to try to find a way to sleep through the night. Don't get me wrong. Sleep Number makes a great mattress, but after a while there are just too many things wrong with a person's body. If I sleep on my back I smother because of sinus drainage year round. If I sleep on my side my shoulders will wake me up hurting. (messed them both up doing dumb stuff in my younger years). If I sleep on my stomach my neck hurts and I cannot breathe. I had one pillow for my head, one pillow for my knees and one pillow on either side of me for support. What the hammock does is cradles your body so you are not propping up pillows. Your body can actually totally RELAX. My head is on a slight incline which is apparently enough to prevent drowning in my mucus. It is an amazing experience to wake up in the morning fully rested without anything hurting. I would not have believed it had I not experienced it. If I overdo yard work and have sore or pulled muscles, I can rest in my hammock and I recuperate faster. BOTTOM LINE If you are tired of trying to find a mattress that will let you sleep through the night, try a hammock. It is hella cheaper than buying a mattress and at the worst, you have something you can lounge in just for fun. Join Gilligan, the Skipper and me. Come to the Hammock side. UPDATE: Still sleeping in my hammock every night. I have taken it on business trips and avoided sleeping in a hotel bed. Still best night's sleep. No wear, no tear. Still looks new.

Best purchase!
Best purchase, I've always wanted one, but I am normally too heavy for such things. This has a high weight rating, and I was excited. It's exactly as described and the photo, it holds my massive weight, it's comfortable, I feel safe, it's easy as, to pack up and put out! would 100% recommend this amazing hammock! I got one for my brother too, and he loves it so much as well.
