Does the top flip back enough to use a pour over cone?

The top does not flip back, it unscrews like a thermos top. It could accommodate a pour over cone if it does not have an overly large and flat base.

The coffee carafe is nicely made. If the lid is closed, it does not spill.

How long does it keep the water hot?

I found that my coffee stays hot at least three hours. It's a very nice thermos and I'm happy I purchased it.
