I bought this backpack for my 7-year-old son to start the new school year, and it’s exactly what I expected from a classic JanSport. This design has been around for years, and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s sturdy, lightweight, and has just the right amount of pockets without being overcomplicated. The side pocket doesn’t hold today’s oversized water bottles, but that’s not a dealbreaker—those huge flasks usually need to be carried by hand anyway. Overall, a reliable and timeless backpack that works perfectly for elementary school.

My husband watched our 10-year-old load up her new JanSport backpack and muttered, “Is she going to school or the Appalachian Trail?” Honestly, same. Did I see her pack her Stanley in it? That's impressive!This bag is perfect—simple, durable, lightweight, and apparently cool enough to pass the ever-critical 5th-grade fashion test. It holds all the essentials: folders, books, snacks, extra snacks, 47 pencils, and whatever mysterious rock she found at recess.The padded straps and back panel make it comfy, and it’s sturdy enough to survive being launched across the living room after school. Bonus: it’s made with recycled materials, so now I get to feel smug and organized.If your tween is opinionated and packing like she’s escaping the suburbs, this backpack delivers. Even my husband’s impressed. (And slightly worried she might actually be leaving.)

The quality of these bags is amazing. They last forever, and they are cute stylish and my daughter loves these bags. Perfect size and comfortable fit.

The backpack is pretty spacious, but not crazy spacious just enough. I didn’t want a big bulky backpack just a thin, but good quality one that fits a good amount of stuff which is what this backpack is. I also love how it is simple, not too many pockets and just plain and black. The zipper works smoothly as well as it is a fast on the go backpack so just put stuff in and take it out not too many zippers or too many pockets.

This is our diaper bag for my son and it’s easy to clean and durable and it’s really cute and it’s cheap. All his stuff fits and then some.

I used this backpack for 2 years, i will say it’s a basic backpack. You’re going to see everyone else have the same backpack or brand. When I first got it, the backpack had a weird rubber smell that stayed even after a wash. When you start using the backpack the smell will come off. The zipper surprisingly never got stuck or broke on me, and I carried a lot of stuff. Storage capacity of this thing is great, I could carry a Chromebook, folders, 2 inch binder, notebooks, and even extra stuff. The backpack even after stuffing it to the max doesn’t look too bulky or big.

janSport has a good, well-deserved reputation and I was not disappointed by my purchase. It's well made, light, and roomy. there are back-packs with more padding and more compartments, but this one is perfect for my purposes, namely walking to the store for a few groceries.
