My son loves "survival" stuff. Hence why I bought this. Not worth it. Do not buy. I'd ask for a refund but I'm not paying to return it. Doesn't work. Terrible birthday gift. Very disappointed.

Awesome workmanship, nice design, but u have to keep filling oil for the lighter, that's the frustrating bit, otherwise, it's something to have.

After having these for over a year now I'm editing my review. At first they're pretty decent I woukd say. There are two major flaws in my opinion. The first is that the fuel capacity is extremely limited. I'm not sure if it evaporates or what but I've had these filled and I let it so for a few months and it'll be completely dry next go around. They aren't leaking so that's not the issue. Second, the striker is etched with teeth. Why?? This creates less surface area to create a spark so it's not exactly consistent. Also because of thr design it is way too aggressive and tears up the little ferro rods extremely prematurely. They are constructed solidly and look nice but the longevity is not there. They're fun and work fine for the first few strikes but it wears down quickly and does not hold up over time. You have to do continuously fill them and carry fuel with you at all times which defeats the purpose. You might as well just carry actual matches or a lighter at that point.

I've had similar items before and wanted to get one as a gift. The price was right for a 2 pack but there's no way I can give them out to anyone I have a decent relationship with. The match is very short and both sides of the striking area are very difficult to get ignition. The bottle opener portion will not open a bottle, period. The key chains seem to be a decent quality, but that's hardly a redeeming aspect. If the pair cost $1 I'd still feel let down.

1 of 2 broke before even used. Have one as a gift and when she opened it to put fluid in the plug broke apart. Throwing together a bug out bag and survival gear this year. Also have a family advent calandar gift exchange and this will be a great gift for my persons box. Seems high quality has a strip of flint to strike on both sides and lights very easy. Seems to be a heavy solid built product but only time will tell. Disappointed that the lne i gifted was a dud a broke instantly.

It was difficult finding kerosene in such a small container instead of a big 4L jug, had to order it online. Images also show picture of product being sleek, but it's actually about 1½" wide (bulky). When using, do not overfill and make sure to hold up right always, otherwise some of the fluid may leak out on initial use. And you have to strike it more than five times before it lights. Looks great, not so much .......

Fun stocking stuffer. But not a lighter you want to use often as it's a little cumbersome. It works as described, and is pretty cool. Just put it in your bag or camping gear and wait for that moment when you're in a bind. But for your day to day lighter?.. nope. To look cool lighting a campfire with your friends around, absolutly!
