Would this be ok for a cavalier king charles spaniel ?

I use it on my 75% spaniel cockerpoo and it’s great. You do have to be gentle but the groomer was really impressed with the lack of knots in her coat last time we went.

Is this good for dematting my shitzhu or would i need to order a seperate dematting comb/brush?

As I've advised before, I would not buy this as whilst the concept is good..a slide which clears the matted fir off the wire bristles, in practice, when you do this, the wire's naturally are bent with use..then, you can't retract the slide as the wires will not fit back into the slide holes.
