The Perfect Marriage

mostly good
This was a good read till about three quarters of the way through then suddenly descended into farce. So totally ridiculous. The husband, Adam, is so unlikely, it is laughable. I spent the last part of the story smiling. The end was really no surprise. Even the identity of the third DNAwas pretty obvious. But the title of The Perfect Marriage is odd. More like The Imperfect Marriage.

A good thriller!
𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Sarah Morgan’s life looks perfect on the surface - a perfect marriage, a beautiful home and a successful career as a defense attorney in Washington D.C. As a named partner at her firm, life is going exactly going how she and her husband, Adam, had planned. Adam is a struggling writer. He is tired of his marriage and successful wife who never has time for him. At the couple’s lakehouse, Adam engages in a passionate affair. However, one morning, their lives are flipped upside down when Adam’s mistress is found brutally murdered in the couple’s marital bed. Sarah is the only one qualified to defend her husband, a man accused of murdering his mistress.𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: This is one of the few books I’ve read this year that I haven’t actually seen appear on Bookstagram yet. I’m surprised! It’s a good thriller. The story grabbed my attention from the beginning! You’ll constantly be trying to figure out whether Adam is as innocent as he protests or whether anyone else could be involved. It’s a classic ‘who dunnit.’In this book, the chapters alternate between Sarah’s and Adam’s point of view. If you’ve been following me for a little while now, you’ll know I always love that!I did mark this book down to 3.5 stars as I found parts of the book a little unrealistic. Overall, it is a good book. I just wish parts of it were reined in a little.

Well Damn
This book had me for a spin. Even from the beginning I had a feeling I knew who was the killer but at the same time, I was totally thinking “nah it can’t be.” And I was questioning myself constantly. But yet again, I shouldn’t have doubted myself because I was right. And even though it was probably shock horror for everyone else, it wasn’t that much of a twist for me who is used to theseKinds of books. But at the same time, I was still surprised the author went the way she did with the story. It was amazing nonetheless, and one of the best reads I’ve had.

wow!
All through out, I had several different people in mind for the murder, yet I totally didn’t expect it to be who it was. Incredible read, gripping and makes you want to read on!
