can these be placed in water?

i haven't tried to put them in water but I don't think you can. The bottom has the on/off switch and would allow water to seep in to the inner workings of the light.

Do these come with a batteries installed?

Yes, batteries were pre installed

Do these put off heat?

No heat. The light just flickers. They are small and make of plastic. Cute and worth it on my opinion.

Do you have to remove a screw to change the battery?

No screw, just a tiny latch to open
