Batman Vs. Superman: The Greatest Battles Paperback – December 8, 2015

This was fun, it was exactly what I figured it would be, though I did not expect it to contain two issues of the BATMAN ENDGAME storyline, which I also ordered. My favorite story from this was (POTENTIAL SPOILERS) the one where it is just the two kids imagining if Supes and Bats fought. We get to see crazy, kid imagined things like Bats stabbing supes with a kryptonite spear, and supes literally taking off bats head flying at high speed. Its great, and the kind of things we obviously would not get in a normal story. Just getting to see those two deaths made this purchase worth it lol.

It seems to parallel the movie to some degree, but has a summary of very many stories included by DC (Detective Comics). It is very well inked by Frank Miller (whose inking is characters are well detailed and proportioned like John Byrne's characters are).It's well worth reading and evaluating the excellent artwork and various stories!

I am a geek, fanboy of comic book superheroes who has been fortunate enough to witness a renaissance of the sequential art form. Even better is the fact that superheroes that were further removed from the mainstream (like Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Doctor Strange) have been given opportunities to star in their own movies. Yet, Batman and Superman still resonate as dichotomous sides of the same coin and still spark the same argument that they’ve sparked in comic book shops since when I was growing up in Brooklyn. I live in Puerto Rico now and when I entered my local comic shop, I heard a kid arguing with the store owner about the same thing. I’m 53 and the store owner wasn’t much more than 23, so I joined the argument, just because I wanted to show off my geekdom. (Listen, I’m a high school teacher that shows off my knowledge all the time. I’m not proud.) One of the stories in this collection is just like that: two kids arguing who would win in a fight. You have some real superstar writers and artists here that make this book special. You have Jeph Loeb, Jim Lee and Scott Williams with “the Battle,” John Byrne, Dick Giordano, Geoff Johns, Ed Benes, Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Frank Miller and Klaus Janson. These stories have been featured in other books, but their collection here is significant. I believe that this trade paperback does not solve the argument as to who would win in a fight, but the book is still a fun read.

With the upcoming Dawn of Justice movie, this graphic novel may contain spoilers or hints so I will try not to give away anything. There has always been the hidden rivalries in comics that normally just do not happen. Sometimes though they do. Superman vs Batman is one of those rare battles that do take place! How can Batman, a mere mortal, even with armor and gadgets galore, defeat a being that can lift an asteroid with his bare hands? Or the fact that Batman knows Clark's/Supes' weaknesses going to be enough to defeat a being with angelic levels of power? Why would they fight to begin with? If Superman ever went rogue(hint; trying not to spoil the novel or film) due to, ummmm, oh boy....can't...must not...will not...oh NO. I have already wrote/said too much. On the movie, Batman may even have to call in(or something like that) a Wonderful Woman to stop "doomsday" from happening. I..am..truly..heartless. All in all, people have always wanted to see fights like Hulk vs Thor, Superman vs Green Lantern, Dr. Strange vs Dr. Fate, and more. Some of those fights have already happened but Batman vs Supes is now the popular one! Enjoy!

I bought this for my comic-loving students. It was well received, although some of the content bordered on appropriate.

These two heroes have always been interlinked; while I thought this would be a quick read, it was actually very substantial and had stories I’ve read before and stories I hadn’t actually read yet. It’s a great book for a good price; the fact that these two were always my top two superheroes also makes it more fun.

Our boy loves it. He’s been asking for a Batman vs Superman comic book and when we found this, he was excited. He enjoyed reading the comics inside and shared the stories with us and his little brother. It’s worth the read.

I am a collector. Condition of the books I spend my money on is very important. This book was listed as "New Condition". It was anything but. Deep creases, folds, and bends throughout the book. Very disappointed. This could have been avoided if the book would have been protected in the traditional bag and board comics usually come in. I am not happy with this. I'm not asking for a refund, but I just spent close to $400 on Amazon products.. So I expect at least an exchange for the same product that is in the "New Condition" I was promised. You can always tell the sellers that are just in it to make a quick buck. Any comic collector knows the importance that a bag and board has in keeping the product in good condition. UPDATE: to be fair, Amazon did make things right by offering a gift card, which is great.. But tbh, I'm not in the business of complaining in hopes to get gift cards; I would have been happy just with a book matching the description given.

Bought to keep small boys entertained whilst waiting w/o any other means of electronic amusement... seems to have done the trick. Poison Ivy never looked like that when I was a boy though!

It is a one stop book to have every major iterations of Batman, Superman and their costumes over the time. Last but not the least, the story line of THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS by Frank Miller is like cherry on the top.# Verdict - To all comic book fans, who already have read the main story lines, this book is not for them. If any person is willing to be up to date about the problems and battles between the two most popular iconic superheroes, or, in other words, want a basic start-up kit, go for this one.Relive the battles and get the answer of all time - #WhoWillWin!
