First off, my first planter arrived damaged with the wood split along the top frame so I had to reorder and ship the damaged one back. Amazon was quick in the exchange and within a couple of days I had my new one and shipped back (free to me) the damaged one. When searching for "furniture" It is so difficult to envision the exact size of an item such as this without actually seeing it in person. The size is perfect and I love the options of deciding how many separated sections I need for my seeding an herb garden. In ordering, there was an option of the same frame but one with the liners (which I decided to buy since the liners are so much more costly to order separately than with the frame) or just the frame itself. Well, once we assembled the frame which took about 45 minutes, I decided to use small clay pots without lining the interior as this was a temporary home for my seedlings to grow big enough for transplant and we felt that using the liners would be too messy and let too much water drain out. There I could have saved myself about $35 in just ordering the frame...so I live and learn. I just packed the liners away in the event I decide to use them in the future.BOTTOM LINE: The framed planter is very attractive and a nice height. At this time I only am using 6 spots so I have 2 empty 6" clay pots for later when I decide what other herbs I need. I was able to set 3 already established herbs in larger 12" pots on the shelf underneath so when watering the upper seedlings my other herbs below get the drained water as well so there is no waste. The planter is sturdy and seems that it can hold enough weight with pots and soil, especially if you were to use the liners and completely fill the sections with soil and seeds/plants. I highly recommend but in my opinion I would opt for the lesser cost and just purchase the frame and save the $35. It still gets 5 stars and customer service was great.

Arrived with a corner broken off. We were able to fix and it’s not where you can see it so decided not to go thru hassle of returning. Wood split in several places during assembly. Not sure how long it will last. On the plus side we like the design and it fit our needs. Lightweight so will be easy to move around if needed.

First, I'd like to say that it was very easy to put together. With a drill I was able to put it together in less than 15 minutes. It's light and easy to move before it is full of soil and plants.My one issue is the depth. I'm sure it is perfect for most herbs, but I worry that cilantro will want a bit more room for the roots to go deeper. Hopefully I will be wrong and/or maybe i shouldn't grow cilantro in this planter - but I really want to!!

I got these years ago and my husband put wheels at the bottom! Everyone should have wheels on these gardens!

Sturdy enough for my annual herbs. Assembled by myself in about 45 minutes. We will see how it holds up to San Diego County weather - worst case scenario will be a more hardy paint.
