10PCS MAX485 RS485 Transceiver Module TTL Serial to RS-485 Module

These are handy little RS-485 modules to keep around for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and general control projects. The boards are compact, the pin labels are easy to read, and the screw terminals make it a lot nicer to connect the A/B lines than trying to solder directly onto a tiny board. The layout is simple and makes it easy to go between TTL/UART and RS-485 without adding much to a project. I also like getting 10 in a pack because these are the kind of modules that tend to stay installed once you use one in a machine or test setup. For inexpensive interface boards, the soldering and overall assembly looked decent and everything felt consistent across the pack. Good option for prototyping, test benches, or small industrial-control projects where you need a simple RS-485 connection.

Performs as expected. Appears to be quality materials and manufacture.

Works electrically. Good price. BUT, the spacing of the rows is NOT a multiple of 0.100" meaning it won't fit in a standard perf board. WHY?!?! Seems like a very rookie error on the part of the board layout person.

These boards come as a drop ship from their pcba facility. You'll have to bend them to remove them from the board to get the individual units. They also got the tolerances wrong. These don't fit into the standard spacing for a PCB and if you try to make them fit, the board will slightly bend. I don't think it's enough to cause trace damage, but it's definitely there

I only needed and tested one of the ten pieces and it worked perfectly. Quality is good. Ten of them for less than the cost of the individual parts! Lots of spares I currently have no use for. Would have liked to have a third screw terminal for ground (shield), but it is what it is.
