Don't use electrical tape on your audio cables, use THIS!!
For years I've seen people using electrical tape to wrap and tidy up cabling at gigs, but the problem is that the longer the tape is left on the cable, the more adhesive comes off and your cables become a sticky nightmare. Enter this cloth tape. Doesn't stick to the cable, it sticks to itself. High heat capable, so the adhesive never comes off. AND, it's just as easy to tear as electrical or duct tape. Best For the Price
This tape sells for about 1/3 the price per foot of the big box stores. I made several custom wiring harnesses when I installed off road lights on my camper van. This tape performed marvelously.
