I’m hooked on his books. Can’t put them down. I’ve read six total in less than a week — the new trilogy, Crickets Don’t Cry, The Dead Don’t Dance, and Maggie. I’m amazed at his ability to bring you into his world — heart and soul — with his words. His research into the details of the characters he creates is evident and appealing. Can’t wait to finish all of his works — what a great author!

I loved this book as I do all Charles martins- I laugh I cry I throw my iPad I pick it back up because I can’t wait to find out what happens! Heartfelt is the perfect word to describe this writing, try it you will love it 😍

Charles Martin takes your heart and twists it in many different directions. I can’t stop reading, his stories weave such vivid pictures. I loved this touching & inspiring love story filled with characters I will not forget.

This is the second of Mr. Martin’s book I’ve read and loved. His stories are SOOOO good. Few books bring me to tears — this one did. I read it in two days. He creates a place where the story is all encompassing. I “fell into” the story and it was wonderful. This needs to be a film.

I've absolutely loved every Charles Martin book I've read, but the complexity yet simplicity, the deep, richness of the characters, the bitter sweetness of the story, and always endings that are satisfying and filled with hope ... Well ... Don't miss Dead Don't Dance and Maggie, but be sure to enjoy all his other works too. Couldn't put it down,so sorry to have it end!

I’ve read 14 of Charles Martins books. He’s my favorite author. I need to know what happens next 😩 left me hangin’ here.

This guy Martin is like, a truly Southern writer in the classical tradition. He's not as dark as O'Connor, but has the same moral compass. Once you read any of his novels, you'll be hooked. Just type in Charles Martin and read whatever comes up. You'll soon see that few of his novels are up for "unlimited reading" on Amazon, because they know you'll pay to read him! He's worth it!!

Just discovered this writer - thanks to my sister in law Joy... read his first book yesterday and this one today. Loved them both. From page 1 to the last page.

Book really good arrived on time

Good book

What a gifted author. Charles Martin has such a unique way of looking at life and his descriptions are amazing. It's like he's writing my thoughts and answering my questions and describing things I wouldn't have ever thought of mentioning. This is the third book I've read by this author and they keep getting better. I hated having to put it down to get work done. I'm looking forward to reading more of his books. The Lord has blessed you with an amazing ability to write and I hope He continues to bless you in this way.

The writing in this novel is excellent. The author takes you to both places of incredibly joy and incredible pain. There are a few instances in which I found it difficult to believe that given circumstances in which there were known criminals about, the women would be left in danger of their lives, but that is my only hesitation in giving this novel a huge thumbs up.
