WORKS BEAUTIFULLY! I DONT EVEN HAVE TO LIFT IT UP IT PRACTICALLY LIFTS ITSELF UP WHEN LATCH IS POPPED. SO NICE AND SO MUCH BETTER THAN MY OLD BEAT UP ORIGINALS THAT ALMOST EVEN LANDED BACK DOWN ON MY HEAD! THESE ARE SO MUCH STRONGER AND BETTER!!!! I WISH I COULD FIND ONE FOR THE HOOD NOW TOO THAT WOULD BE SUPER UBER COOL! MAY HAVE TO BE MORE HEAT RESISTANT TO GO UNDER THE HOOD THOUGH BUT FOR THE BACK HATCHBACK ITS A DREAM! SO NICE! I WANT TO GIVE IT 10 STARS RATHER THAN JUST 5. SO WORTH IT.

Buy These - They are Great! Ignore the Whiners Complaining About Install Hassles. It's Not Complicated Unless You Are a Whiner..
Sure, you have to remove a little bit of trim because the fitting on the end is a little different than OEM but it's not a big deal unless you just like to complain about stuff. The price on these is right and they've been working great for about a year now. It takes a little effort to close my hatchback but I think that's a good thing and a sign of quality. No complaints!

Perfect Fit and Works Beautifully
When I bought my car, it had NO lift support. They were missing. I bought these and got them installed myself. They didn't come with the bolts but it didn't matter because I got some from Lowe's. They work great and fit perfectly.

But very very easy to install
Got these to replace the dead one's on the '97 Honda Civic Hatchback. Had to drill out one of the mount holes as it did not quite fit. They just don't carry the weight of the hatchback. they won't open on their own. I have to lift it past half way. But very very easy to install.

Just buy them. Your head will rejoice.
Strong and a perfect fit. As others have testified, they practically open the hatch completely after it lifts a few inches. My skull is no longer needed as a hatch prop after it gets pounded. Couldn't be happier with the quality, look and ease of installation.

Fits and works perfectly. Took almost no time to install. Not sure why I didn't replace this a long time ago.

Garbage
These are garbage. Instead of having the standard ball end and clip that would have allowed for installation in seconds, these require that you remove the interior plastic trim around the rear windscreen and then try to bolt them on. Getting those upper bolts back in is nearly impossible as they just want to spin and not drive in.If you want headaches, get these. If you want it properly done, keep looking.
