Horrible build quality, and then they refuse warranty coverage
The product is a great concept but the execution in these units leaves a lot to be desired. When the unit is working it, on average, takes at least 3 attempts swiping your finger to open it, often far more if the angle isn't just right. Once the doors open it's a loud clunk like you dropped a tire iron. Don't even think of using this unit to keep a handgun in that you may need fast access to, you'll be long gone before you ever get it open or the racket it makes opening will tell the intruder exactly where you are.My unit is now 8 months old and has been stored in a bedroom and opened approximately twice per month. The sensor is already failing and when swiping a finger across is has big gaps in the fingerprint scan so it won't recognize any fingerprints because the scan with 5 scan lines missing obviously doesn't match the original stored scan. After 30 or 40 scans I got it to open the unit finally so I could get my personal stuff out.The BioVault 2.0 is everything you'd expect from a Chinese made product and another shining example of why I'll never buy Chinese made goods again.A number of companies in the US resell these boxes under different labels as if it was their own domestically made product, but they're just marketing companies selling the Chinese made box with a different sticker. As an illustration of just how bad the problems are with this product, the company that sold my copy of the Chinese box and was supposed to uphold the warranty, Sequiem, filed bankruptcy and pulled a cute little shell game where they continued to sell the exact same products under a different company name, biometrx, but claimed all previous warranty claims are void because it was a different company now. Even the Sequiam website goes directly to the new company. Sounds like fraud.I'd stay far away from these products.

imperfect, but not terrible
I've had this unit, sold under the Sequiam BioVault, for about a year now. I open it once a day now, because it does indeed take more than one swipe to open in on most occasions, and the last thing I want to encounter is the critical need to get into it and not being able to, so if I'm at home, it's open and ready.I've stored 10 swipes of my index finger and several more swipes of a couple other fingers. Position relative to the box is important, as is the pressure you swipe your finger with. The more consistent you can be with it the better. Most times it takes me 2-3 swipes to get in, sometimes 1 sometimes 5.Getting into it can sometimes be a hassle, but it does fulfill its role as an absolute blockade against children or anyone else getting into this valuables box, not having to worry about someone learning my code or discovering where I've hid the key. It's piece of mind in that sense, that only biometrics can provide.Oddly, it's still a very limited market, and this remains one of the few safes of this size to include biometric entry.

KEEPSAFE 2.0 Fast access and works great
I have this "Biovault" unit and bought it when if first came out under the "KEEPSAFE 2.0" brand. It has worked flawlessly for me over the years and as a firearms instructor, I have used it in my car to secure several firearms when traveling to various ranges for classes. I have several scans of different fingers on different hands of 3 different people who I have given access privileges and I have never had an incident of failure. I saw many complaints listed here and thought a good product was getting a bad rap, so I had to offer my 2 cents about how it is a great product... at least under the KEEPSAFE 2.0 brand.

Clunk, Clunk, what a piece of junk!
My Biovault is hanging on the wall in my master bedroom, a sad and dejected mass of worthless obsenitites. It has never opened quickly regardless of the number of user prints I installed in it. Now it will not open at all because of a bad selenoid but makes random, sleep rattleing noises that sound like an automobile collision. Technical help is unavailable except by email. If you call in for help you will reach a voice recorder that offers to take your number and call you back which never happens. I suggest avoidance of this vault is the best alternative to the frustration and financial loss it will cause.

Do not buy this safe!!!
I loved it when I first bought it but that soon turned into a freaking Greek tragedy. The batteries were dead so I replaced them only to have the unit malfunction. I ordered a power source which didn't help either. Basically costumer service said I was SOL since it had been 13 months since I purchased the item. Now I have some high dollar items in the safe including one of my pistols and I can't access them. I guess it's time to try the sledge hammer method because I don't trust a safe cracker with the contents and I can't use a torch due to the contents. Trust me you want to skip this item!!!

Works well
Probably the best feature is that the BioVault allows really fast access with its pop open doors. Its large, and holds a decent amount, and I got an accessory to allow it to mount securely. My stuff is a finger touch away, I can never loose the keys or forget the combination. It has always worked reliably for me, and I would strongly recommend. It is basically a larger version of the BioBox from Smart Touch/Sequiam, except it pops open automatically.I have the BioBox also, which fits into a desk drawer in my office and attaches to the desk with a cable. I use the BioVault at home.

Sensor error
This safe is great a first, but the sensor goes bad very quickly. I have it programmed for all of my husband's fingers and all of my fingers, but most of the time we can't open it. It always has a sensor error. I wouldn't put anything in this safe that I would need in an emergency.
