The Best Book on the Essential Kata of Wado Ryu
This is a very good text with excellent photography that explains the essential forms of the Wado Ryu style in the manner of JKF Wadokai, the largest Wado style organization. Well bound and well manufactured. uses correct Japanese terminology throughout

Very happy!
I received my book in excellent condition. It only took in my case 24 days, very well packaged, fast service. The is the second copy in our home 3 out of 4 study Wado Karate for over 8 years. It is a great book along with picking up a copy INTRODUCTION TO KARATE by the same author both recommended by our Sensei. Its a great teaching tool and study tool for reaching higher ranks along with getting your Black Belt and beyond. We wore out our other copy. I'll recommend to fellow students to pick up a copy for themselves. Thank you for your service, I am a first time user, and will check in for more instruction or pure reading fun. I suggest you don't miss out because these copies are hard to find and with studying Wado Style karate these books are a great asset.

Great guide to learning the Katas of Wado
This book along with "Introduction to Karate" by Ohgami make a great guide for learing wado, or any style of karate. The first part of the book describes the dynamics of kata and explains many of the basics common to all kata. The photos are excellent and diagrams explain many of the subtleties. The katas in the book are:Pinan 1-5KushankuNaifanchiSeishanChinto Introduction to Karate

Karate Teacher
The photos are good thats all. look at him doing the applications do you really think thats the real way you should do a kata. do you really think you can block a kick or a punch like this . no wonder most people who study karate dont take katas serious. katas are karate thats the morale of the story they should be done the correct way and no other way . are american people never going to wise up about karate/////

Wado-Ryu Katas made simple
This book is without doubt one of the best I have seen for illustrating katas. It covers the five Pinan Katas, along with Kushanku, Naifanchi, Seishan, and Chinto, and explains in detail the required stances, moves and some applications.Several books illustrate Wado-Ryu katas but tend to vary at certain points in each kata. As a student of Wado-Ryu in the UK, I have found no differences in the moves shown to those taught to me.My only critism of this book is very slight: it makes no reference to which moves should be performed with Kiai. The photographs are in black and white but very detailed and clear, with decriptive text under each. All in all, I would recommend this book not so much as a tutorial in itself (although it could no doubt be used in such a manner) but more as a reference guide to those already studying Wado-Ryu Karate.

Had been looking for this for some time. Book in good condition. There was no mention on the description of the writing in the front however this actually increased its meaning so no complaints!

Great Addition To Wado Ryu
A great book giving very detailed descriptions and easily understandable pictures as to how to perform most katas required for 1st and 2nd Dan (To an Extent). There is also some useful bunkai for a select few of the moves, which before learning the kata may seem a bit odd. Provides all the correct transitions, stances and moves. The hardback cover and the good quality pages gives a great durable book, that will be continually used for years to come.A must buy for those learning Wado RyuAdil
