The power of the Sun!
SANSI 36W Grow Light Review I've been using the SANSI 36W Grow Light for a few weeks now, and I am incredibly impressed. I bought this to help my indoor plants, which weren't getting enough natural light, and the results have been fantastic. The Good: Powerful and Effective: This light is seriously bright. My plants, especially my fiddle leaf fig and some herbs, have shown significant new growth and look much healthier since I started using it. The light distribution is excellent, covering a wide area without any hotspots. Solid Build Quality: The unit feels very sturdy and well-made. It has a heavy, ceramic-like heat sink which I appreciate. It doesn't get hot to the touch, which is a big plus for safety and longevity. It feels like a premium product. Easy to Use: It screws into a standard E26/E27 socket, so it was a breeze to set up. I just put it in a simple hanging lamp fixture, and it was ready to go. The Not-So-Good (but minor): Heavy: Because of its solid build and heat sink, it's a bit heavier than a standard bulb. You just need to make sure you use a fixture that can support the weight. Intense Light: The light is very powerful and has a distinct purple/pink hue. It's great for the plants, but it definitely lights up the room with a very specific color. Something to consider if you're putting it in a main living area. Overall: This grow light is a game-changer for my indoor garden. If you're serious about helping your plants thrive indoors, this is a fantastic investment. The quality, performance, and ease of use make it a clear winner. I highly recommend it.

Great value light for beginner chilli grower.
I bought this Sansi 36W light to try and get a head start with my chilli seedlings, this is the first batch and are Capsicum Baccatum's and Capsicum Chinense. I have never used a light or lights before so I cannot compare this to any previous experience and it is a bit of trial and error at the moment. The propagator they are in is 52cm long x 42cm wide and the light has no problems covering it at 16 inches above the tops of the pots, in the pictures the light is 12-13 inches away from the tops of the plant pots and covers the area well also. Some of the seedlings got a little leggy before I put them under light as they germinated surprisingly quickly (first time using a heated propagator as well), the first two pictures were taken 4 days before the next three. It is their only source of light, they are under a north facing bedroom window but the grey and drab British Jan/Feb sunlight is of no real use to the seedlings. I started them off with the light 16 inches above the tops of the pots as I think it may state in the Sansi information page (from memory) to do so. I had the light on for 8 hrs a day for the first 3 days at 16 inches and have now lowered the light to 12-13 inches above the pots and I am keeping the light on for10 hrs a day. (The propagator lid is on at the moment, although the light creates minimal heat itself and I guess it would not damage the leaves.) I can't see any visible problems from having the lights a little lower than it recommends, even on sensitive seedlings. (Not that I would be entirely sure what to look for, yellowing leaves and leaf curl I guess.) The seedlings seem to be thriving under the light so far, although they may be a little leggy due to me not putting them under lights quick enough or having the light low enough or on for long enough to start with. The light is giving them the kickstart I was hoping for this early in the year. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on lights as this is the first time I have tried them and I am very pleased with the Sansi 36W light so far. The bulb screwed straight into an E27 pendant light fitting I bought, the pendant light fitting said it was suitable to be used with bulbs up to 100 watts. I noticed other people mention that the backs of the bulbs can get a little warm to the touch. They don't get very warm at all in my experience, after 10 hrs on I can hold onto the back of the bulb if I need to move it. (Mine is very open though, i can't speak for others who have them in a more enclosed area.) As an enthusiastic 2nd year beginner to chilli growing this light suits me very well, it's price is great and it enables me to start off seedlings and grow on young plants much earlier than I would of realistically have been able to do so on a south facing windowsill relying on the British weather. I may be making little mistakes with how I am using the light as i am learning but the seedlings seem to be responding to the bulb and light and are growing well in my opinion. The bulb is good quality, easy to use with the E27 fitting and to me it seems very good value for money. On what I have experienced in a smallish period of time so far with this light I would recommend them for the same type of uses as me.

Great for supplemental light in the winter.
The Sansi 36W LED is a great little grow light. I bought my first Sansi 36W LED grow light at the start of 2020, and had been using it to supplement the light for my Colocasia plants. As a newbie in terms of growing, I wasn't too sure of what to make of it. It seemed to work fine, well the plants were doing well. At the time I had 1 plant under the light. When the winter came, I realised that the plants that were not supplemented with the additional light were not doing soo well. I then decided to raise the light higher, so that it would cover a larger area and about 2 - 2.5 plants. The plants that were struggling quickly took advantage of the additional light and were doing well again. It seems that 1 single 36W LED can supply enough light for about 2-3 of my Colocasia plants. I keep the light about 1.5 feet above the canopy of my plants and they seem fine. My next experiment will be to see if this light can support some plants in a part of my living room that receives very little light from the window. At present, I'm hopeful that it will work. My advice when using this light would be to make sure that the lamp is used without a shade (I used my first light with a shade and it failed very quickly in about 3 months because of the build-up of heat in the unit. The seller promptly replaced the light, I realised my mistake and now I now use the lights as instructed, without a shade and they are fine) At 36W for about 10 hours a day, I calculated an approx cost of £25 a year at my current electricity prices, which I don't think is that bad. It allows me to keep a little bit of nature in my living room which i love.

Robust, long lasting and very effective.
Had this light for almost 5 years and it's still going strong. Most importanly it works! My house plants love it and thrive under its glow. Very, very pleased with my purchase.

Great but might fail
I bought 2 10W bulbs in November 2023. £9 each. 10W is bright enough for my monstera which gets no natural light and now it’s a monster. Perhaps even too bright as the plant tries to avoid the bulb light. Also any more powerful and it would overpower the room. I had it on for approx 12-14hrs a day. Now the one bulb has failed in May 2025, 18 months and 8,500hrs later. )One bulb is still going for now. That one is on for less hrs a day.) Is that good value for money? Only 1/3 of the rated time. edit - sansi reached out and offered me a refund, well that's good customer service indeed, so I'll add a star for that.

Great bulb.
A great bulb for growing houseplants in my dark flat. Looks a little bulky, and doesn't fit every decor theme, but puts out tonnes of neutral/warm light. Easy to install in any E27 socket, but just be mindful that as the bulb is quite heavy, it may sag some gooseneck clamps. Puts out 500 to 1000 ppfd between 6 and 12 inches away from the bulb. Very impressed.

Stopped working after a week
The bulb seemed good for a week then just completely stopped working. Ive tried it in a different light fitting. I bought it at the end of 2025, but now, apparently, its too late to do anything about it (I only started using it a week ago because it’s for seedlings, which couldn’t be planted sooner). I didn’t notice the bulb looking odd like it does now, so I don’t know if it was always like this or is somehow damaged by being on for 6 hrs a day…

Its works well just gets very hot.
I haven't used it long enough to see a difference with my plants growth etc. However, I've used my light meter to test the light and its showing a very high light level. The only downside, it gets hot very hot. This worries me when its on a number of hours and I've actually burnt my hand when I've accidentally touched it.
