Excellent Product
It is portable, easy to operate, better than using cell phone to take photos for some documents because I can specify the format of my document (JPG/PDF). It is good to scan the old photos for the family and keep them digitally.

Impressive Scan Quality and Great Portability
I was highly impressed with the quality of the scan out of this little machine. It is the perfect size for travel and even includes a storage bag. The scan process was pretty easy and setup was just as easy. The only area I struggled with was understanding the 'Time Set' function. The instructions are poorly written and I never understood how to change to today's date and time. I finally gave up on that part and just started scanning. I thought I would need a card reader for the micro SD card but was pleasantly surprised that the data is accessible through an included USB cable. Just plug it in to the scanner and then attach to your computer and the scans are immediately available. I didn't pay close attention to the fact that I needed to provide the micro SD card, but luckily I had a spare laying around.

What-A-Deal! Easy to use and the OCR Software saves a lot of time.
My Sister and I went to the Genealogy Library and after having to pay for copies and to make scans. I determined we needed a hand held scanner. I ordered two. Normally, when you want to scan pages in a book, you have to "spread open" the book and this is not good as it is very apt to damage the spine. The handheld makes it very easy to scan pages in a book. But that's not all! The scanner comes with ABBYY Optical Character Recognition software. This allows us to scan a book and then convert images to PDF, Excel Files, MS Word and MS Power Point. But even that's not all! As you probably know, if you put a bunch of scanned pages in a folder, you can easily "search" the folder. This is invaluable for a person who is scanning pages from a book as you don't have to read through a bunch of text in order find what you're looking for. The Scanner runs on two AA Batteries. I used a lot of digital cameras at work and favor the AA Batteries over rechargeable as you can easily change them for fresh batteries and they don't cost much. If you had rechargeable batteries, you'd either have to wait while they recharge or you need to have a spare set. (Shucks, if you have to change out rechargeable batteries in order to keep working, why bother for you can buy a large quantity on Amazon for Peanuts.) I know I've said a lot but I truly believe this is the best deal I've make in a long, long time. Thank You Amazon.

Not very practical and takes practice
I got this for a variety of uses however the main function of scanning small documents doesn't work well. Its not very easy to use because you have to be very consistent over the entire document. It easily makes lines and waves in the scan because of this. However the secondary use I wanted for this is perfect. I wanted to scan different signs, textures and objects outdoors for creative uses. Its quick and compact for that purpose. I just use a card reader and it's fast and easy to connect and read the scans.

Awesome little scanner
This little scanner is pretty darn awesome for the price. It was super easy to set up, and I am not a very tech savvy person. Put in the memory chip, follow the instructions in the box and BOOM...your done.It takes great scans, I use it for my books to create study/work manuals for myself, now I can combine multiple books into one section in my binders. WAY WAY better than trying to use the scanner on my printer. Glad I didn't buy a $100+ model. The only complaint I have at this stage is it would be awful nice to have it plugged into my laptop to be able to see the image instantly...so I know right away that it worked rather than having to go back and redo it later. But for $50 I can live with that missing piece. (you cannot have the USB plugged into your laptop and operate the scan option at the same time. Not sure why..but again, I am not that tech savvy.
