Leather is high quality and the retention snap is solid.That said, the retention strap has to be 'squared' on the end or else it's hard to snap shut around the pistol. I soaked the end of the strap in plain alcohol, bent it into a square shape, and let it dry while the pistol was inserted. It worked fine and it's much easier to secure the pistol.Now, if you carry your 1911 'cocked and locked' the side of the retention strap will scrunch up against the hammer. I cut a crescent shape out of the strap where it contacts the hammer to give it some clearance and now it functions the way it should.Also, wrapping the pistol in wax paper and holster/reholstering a few dozen tomes really makes it draw much more smoothly.Otherwise it's a very good holster for the $$

Great holster. Love the retention strap. Too bad you can’t use weaponlights with this style of holster.

I was under the impression this was a little softer but that isn't the case. It almost works as intended but don't expect to get quality things like in the picture. I know it will work better as it gets worn in but I don't see it getting worn in. The button really isn't lined up to snap. It doesn't fit my Glock 17 or Glock 19 correctly. That is specifically why I bought it. For those two things.
