I read all the Foxfire books long ago...this was a trip back to a hollow in the Appalachians.
Shipping was efficient and all the Foxfire books are good, but even better when you remember that they are written by high school students studying their own history and world. We actually went to the Foxfire Museum for the first time this year....also planned by students. Education came to have real meaning to students in the middle of nowhere who discovered they have a rich and wonderful heritage that they could share with the world.

excellent
This book was an entertaining look at Christmas past. I enjoyed reading other people's stories and comparing them with my own. I passed the book along to my sister so she could enjoy it too

Preservation of Folk Ways
I shared this with friends to encourage them to write down their Christmas memories to be shared with their families, especially their children and grandchildren. The best thing about the Foxfire series is that it transfers memories and knowledge from one generation to others.I recognized some of the Christmas traditions from my youth, and others from hearing my parents talk about them.

Interesting Book
I liked the book but found the stories to be repetitive.

Foxfire Christmas
This book is soooo good and it was also sad. I enjoyed it very much to how some of the parents made so many of their children's Christmas presents and how the children decorated their own little trees and put them in their bedroom with foil and whatever they could find around the house. It is very interesting to see how the children loved to get the wood carved toys their father would make for them and the mothers would make dolls for the girls. The children now-a-days don't know how good they have it. Some of the children did not get anything for Christmas because the parents could not afford it....that is the sad part. I feel like they appreciated things more then.
