Surf, Sand, Sun and Lani all on Orchid Island, can Donovan rest with all the distractions she provides????
Joann Ross captures you and takes you to Orchid Island !!!! She is a wonderful story teller. Lani ,who is Nate Breslin's sister from Sunset Point Shelter Bay, has crushed on Donovan Quinn for years and when she sees him again on Orchid Island, her family's home, she falls for Donovan all over again. Donovan comes to Orchid Island in desperateneed of rest and relaxation after being banished to Orchid Island by his friends. He is still reeling from losing his partner and the surf, sand, sun and a sexy all grown up Lani help Donovan regain his balance. There is a little drama on the island that helps ramp up some action for our soon to be Portland Chief of Police. But can he really walk away from Lani....that is the question.Enjoy.....

A huge disappointment and not worth spending money on.............
I have read many other JoAnn Ross books and enjoyed them so much that I really looked forwards to this one.Unfortunately, I can't say I like it very much. I found the characters to be very flat, predictable and one dimensional. Compared to her other books, this one seems like it was written in a hurry and while the author was distracted. The main character, Lani, starts the story by saying how independent she is and makes many declarations about how she won't be seduced by Donovan...yet she spends much of the first part doing her best to tease and devise ways to get him between the sheets. She acts very worldly one moment, then a few pages later shows incredible naivety. Most of the book is spent with her and Donovan either driving around the island or them in the sack.I really regret this purchase and wish it had been on Kindle Unlimited. No discernible plot lines, flat characters, and poor development.A huge disappointment from a talented author.

Welcome to Orchid Island
.I was a little nervous about a new location that wasn't Shelter Bay. My fears were unfounded and this new series met all my expectations. Donovan is the hero and we met him back at Shelter Bay. He's burned out and sorely in need of some R&R. Orchid Island is exactly what the doctor ordered. I got just as involved with the characters in this book as I did the characters in all the other books by Ms Ross. It's just what the reader needs at Christmas, a happy book that makes you smile.

Sun Kissed: A nice love story.
This is a typical love story with a handsome police detective and a vivacious woman on an tropical island in the Pacific Ocean somewhere near Hawaii. It's a nice story with a little crime suspense. It is an enjoyable book.

Great, but shortchanged
As all of her books, you are drawn to the characters and feel like you are there. However, I felt short changed by the length of the story and it felt very rushed without the relationship building that leaves you breathless.

is wonderful, but there is nothing interesting in the story ...
Having read all of JoAnn Ross's previous series and loving them, I was stunned when It dawned on me that I wasn't into this story at all. Certainly the setting which is a mixture of most of the Hawaiian Islands, is wonderful, but there is nothing interesting in the story to keep me reading. The characters have all sorts of potential, but are not compelling. Sadly, the book sits on the shelf taunting me that I bought it expecting the usual immediate "gotcha" as I met the characters and the situation. NOT--- just didn't happen.JoAnn is a better writer than this. Don't waste money on this one.

New series
Loved this series. Can't wait for future books. Have read all of her books. Shelter Bay and now Orchid Island. Loved how you saw the characters Donovan and Lani develop. Donovan and Lani both had past hurts and events to work through. Looking forward to her next book. Great read and great writing.

Loved the setting. Characters were real. Even tho you could figure the outcome I still enjoyed the journey. Love Hawaii.
