If not up to my African Grey, I am fairly certain this solution would provide perfect conditions for feather recovery. The spray is a little too direct for her liking,and she accepts more readily a gentle warm mist from the water bottle. Nevertheless I have persevered and new growth, in the form of fluff, appears most days. Then, most days, she pulls it all out and there is a sad pile waiting for me on the bottom of the cage. I have brought out all the big guns now - the best varied diet, a UV lamp, hours of fresh air outside, more company and dancing to her favourite music. I have accepted that, after years of determined over-grooming, Henrietta will remain what my vet calls a "Happy Plucker"!
