Great choice
Excellent product. The motion detection is adjustable and is very sensitive which is good. Setup was pretty easy although the instructions indicated that an activation number was in the box but it was not, so I had to call customer service for the number, which frankly was a pain.I installed it myself and connected it to the existing doorbell rather than run it on the battery. The only thing I do not like about this product is that I have not found the sweet spot between capturing a person's approach to the door and not having the street trafic activate the motion sensor.Every once in awhile the video shows in black and white rather than in color. This could be due to strained wifi service.Overall the video and images are clear, they are immediate accessible and shareable. The real time monitoring works great and you can speak to the person at the door through this system to.The primary reason I went with this brand was to avoid a monitoring fee that I thought was not needed since I have a security system. All in all I think I made a great choice and would recommend this to anyone.

Eufy/Anker stand behind their products
I've had this doorbell for a little over a year, and it performed wonderfully up until a couple of weeks ago when I realized that it no longer ran off of the hardwired connection. Whenever I looked at it in the app, it showed me a small image of a power plug but then out of nowhere I started seeing a battery indicator. Initially, I thought there was something wrong with my wiring so I removed the doorbell and tested out the wires but the voltage was fine. I then wanted to charge the doorbell thinking that would fix the issue but quickly realized that it would not take a charge after trying several different charging blocks and powerbanks. So, I proceeded to reach out to Eufy/Anker support (which was super easy to find on the app), and was greeted by a very friendly and professional agent named Thomas. In all honesty, I was expecting to reach someone overseas but was pleasantly surprised when I realized I was speaking to a U.S.-based rep. Not only that, but I literally experienced zero hold time...so right off the bat I was impressed by the level of service that Eufy/Anker was offering. After explaining the issue to Thomas, he proceeded to check when I had purchased the doorbell, at which point it came to light that it was outside of the manufacturer warranty period as I purchased it in July of 2020 and this happened in Sept 2021. Realizing this, I had fully expected him to tell me that he's sorry and there's nothing he can do for me, which I would've had to accept given that I was outside the warranty timeframe. HOWEVER, much to my surprise, Thomas stated that he was willing to make a one-time exception for me and that he would honor the warranty even though it was technically no longer applicable!! I was elated at hearing this news, and was BEYOND thankful! Although I've never had any issues with any of my other Eufy or Anker products over the years, I was just shocked that a company was willing to go above and beyond to rectify an issue the one time I did experience a problem...even though they didn't have to, in this particular instance. So, while I honestly was never planning on writing a review for the doorbell itself, I just felt compelled to share my experience in order to highlight the importance of buying from a reputable and reliable company that is willing to stand behind their products and go that extra mile to make their customers happy. Kudos to Eufy/Anker and a HUGE thank you to Thomas for making this experience painless and hassle-free!!

It is a good early version
Update:It seems to have improved over time. It has a very high success rate with few false notifications.New problem, the app uses lots of battery power. Checking online other have reported the issue since the last firmware update. They said it was good before then so hopefully it will be a relatively quick and easy update.Old reviewThe motion detector is inconsistent. It will occasional pick up a car driving by about a third of the time it does not detect me when I walk into the house. The picture quality is not consistently good. I expected more from a 2K camera. But, sometimes they are very good so if the software gets an update to focus quickier maybe that improves? The night vision is good up to about 5 feet and then loses effectiveness rapidly. The install was relatively easy. I wired it to an existing doorbell with no problem. I am not particularly good at knowing craftsman things but I am very good at following clearly written instructions. The installation instructions were not a problem.Initially the camera was more picking and events at all. I changed the sensitivity to maximum and that helped. It picks up people about 2/3 of the time. I would estimate that is the 15 events yesterday 8 were actual (including a cars driving by) and 7 did not have an obvious reason why the were captured. I would be fine with the false alarms if it was always capturing when people come to the door but that is not currently the case.I have not tried the intercom yet.The instructions for adjusting the camera settings all started from after you were in the settings menu. It was not clear to me how to get into the camera settings. One I figured that out it was easy but start instructions from the main screen.I have not been able to download videos yet. There is a "download" button that seems to start the download. But the download progress indicator does not show progress. I have not tried it much so hopefully I figure that out soon.I like the unit as something to experiment with. I am satisfied with it for my purposes but I would be disappointed if I bought it to improve security. It just is not good enough at detecting motion yet. Hopefully that improves with software updates.I attached a photo to show my entryway. It seems like I should be able to set the sensor to low sensitivity and detect anyone approaching but that was not the case. At normal sensitivity it would not activate. At the highest sensitivity it has started detecting me about 2/3 of the time. It occasionally picks up a car driving past on the street in front of my house which is pretty amazing and shows the sensor works. But, how did does it not detect people who are channeled close to the unit with a stable background?
