The narrative has lots of detail, including examples of combat use. The text includes lots of photographs, illustrations, and technical diagrams. Well recommended to students of military small arms.

As a whole, this series from Osprey isn't very well written, but this may be the worst one I've seen. It seems to jump around between procurement issues and technical matters while skipping over deployment. The book uses so much unexplained military jargon that it may go over the heads of even knowledgeable readers. And the uneven level of detail can be maddening. Reasons for a heavier barrel or extended feed ramps are carefully explained, but then another update is said merely to include "an improved bolt carrier.". Improved how? For what reason?Osprey needs to be more careful choosing its authors, and really needs better editors.

These books are informative, if you knew someone who wanted to learn about a certain firearm, these books are one to give out.
