Mucinex12 Hr Chest Congestion Expectorant, Tablets 40 ea (Pack of 2)

This product (as all others under the Mucinex name) works great, but I must caution those of you who are considering using it if you have blood pressure issues. I had felt bad on a Thursday-Friday and used this product over the weekend. I did feel better but thought I should go ahead to see the doctor on that Monday. My blood pressure was sky high! The doctor asked me if I had taken anything OTC (Over-The-Counter) and once I said this, the doctor told me to stop taking it immediately. Apparently it can raise blood pressure, especially if you already have issues. So my advice is to take the product with caution and to monitor your blood pressure while taking it.

This stuff is amazing. I have chronic bronchitis. I've had it for years. I use the inhalers that my pulmonary physician prescribed, but I still have the congestion. I asked the nurse practitioner what she would suggest and tada. It was mucinex. I've been using it for a week now and it has made such a difference. I take one pill in the morning and the improvement is astounding. But since I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on tv. I'll suggest that you should check with yours before you take it in case you have high blood pressure or some underlying condition that could be adversely affected by it. Personally I'm sold on it.

I was diagnosed with asthma a few months ago and have been dealing with the feeling of pressure and tightness in my chest. I decided to take mucinex as I know it is good for chest congestion and I have a lot of post nasal drip. I can't believe how much better taking this makes me feel! No more feeling like a hand is reaching into my chest and squeezing my lungs. I finally have some relief!

Since I must take this twice a day indefinitely I was looking for a better price than the local CVS and privately owned pharmacy near me and as usual Amazon fit the bill. I can say that in my experience if you take this for more than one week you MAY experience some muscle cramping in legs, feet and hands. I use quinine to counteract this side effect and it works beautifully. I discovered the quinine remedy after some very painful and very long lasting lower leg cramps.

Not much to say about an expectorant. I bought this at the recommendation of my doctor. These don't have a nasty taste and they were good value for the money. Good if you have a nagging cough or congestion and want to clear out. This doesn't have a suppressant or anti histamine (I was told to look for something without). If you're coughing your throat soar, or if you have an allergic cough, check with your doctor to see if you should try a different mix.

I end up using this product throughout most of the winter because I work in an office building that just recycles the same damn illness all winter long. This product combined with tons of water will break up that congestion you feel in your sinuses and lungs. The cost for this box is less than what I got charged at the grocery store and I get twice the product. Excellent price point.

I am getting away from using decongestants, which help reduce production of mucus. Mucinex increases water amount in mucus to make it thinner and more flowable. Thus I still produce mucus but because it is thinner, it reduces congestion and also does not increase my blood pressure.Decongestants are stimulants and will increase blood pressure and heart rate.

The product is fine. I wish there were a way to file a complaint about the poor delivery. It is not okay to just toss a package onto the driveway. The items may come to grief and loss in a number of ways. In this case, the package was run over when we backed out of the garage. I know AMZ wants to have their own delivery, but they'd do better to stick with UPS.
