This solved an issue I had with my Velo 7 computer not measuring speed or distance. No obvious damage on original pick up sensor or wiring, but it wasn't measuring. Kit has everything needed to replace computer mount, cable and sensor. Works great.

Fulfills its purpose. Let's me easily transfer the computer between bikes so that I don't have to buy an entirely new Velo 9 for each one. Pad for the back of the computer mount was pretty small and slightly failed in mounting, so I secured it with a slice of old inner tube to prevent the zip ties from slipping. For a piece of wire and a sensor, seems a bit pricey, but ultimately worth it.

Glad I didn't have to buy an entire new unit. Velo 9 display was not recording any action, but accurately showed the time of day. Installed this replacement kit and all is good. Instructions were clear and easy to follow, and all the pieces needed were included.

I am not sure why my Velo 7 computer stopped working after 3 years but it also happened for my wife's bike and we purchased the bikes and the computers at the same time. I touched the 2 metal contacts on the back of the computer with a screwdriver and saw it spring to life and act like it does when the wheel is rotating, so I knew the computer was okay. This kit came with everything needed to replace the old wheel sensor and the computer mount on the handlebars including plenty of zip ties and a new magnet for the bike wheel. It was much cheaper than buying a new computer.

The Cateye computer works OK, but the mounting system is lame. Instead of any sort of removable clamp or fixture, mounting depends on one-use wire ties. Get it right the first time, or you will have to cut these ties. Not many come with the kit, so you will probably find yourself looking for extras if you change your mind or make a mistake. And, worse, the wire ties are a very uncommon length for their size! Forget finding them at Lowes or Home Depot or normal hardware stores. Even my LBS has to string together two of the common but too-short wire ties when they need to move a Cateye. That makes for an ugly looking job. I finally found and bought a bag of 100 of the right length and size at my local electrical supply company (Grainger, which caters to contractors) but why should you have to do this? Cateye should include at least twice as many of the ties as you'll need; they're cheap.
