A.Dream.of.Red.Mansions: Poignant love story

This is my first book of Chinese literature. The beautiful illustrations not only make it easy to follow the story, but also draw the reader in as though they were watching a play. The story is simple, but the relationships are incredibly complex. It reveals the subtle yet effective ways women of this time obtained and exerted their power. A great story and I’m so glad I read it.

Mir hat der Comic gut gefallen. In ausgesuchten Szenen aus dem Mammutwerk bringt er den Verlauf der Geschichte vom Traum der Roten Kammer näher. Die Hauptfiguren werden erklärt, und auch die Nebenfigurern, die als Schlüssel zu Handlung und Sozialkritik fungieren. In der Geschichte vorhandener unterschwelliger Humor wird gut vorbereitet, und an Kapitelenden dann noch einmal erklärt und in das Verhältnis zum Verständnis seiner Zeit gesetzt.
