My DERMagic Experience
Hello all! First of all before I begin my review, I want whoever is reading this to first and foremost know this is MY experience with these products, and every dog’s body, condition and experience will be different. I just wanted to share how it worked for my pup. If you are struggling with this black skin desease or dry skin condition, I highly first recommend you get your dog tested for the following: a blood panel, urinalysis, thyroid testing and adrenal hormone testing. My vet also took some samples of my dogs dry skin to look under a microscope to see if there were any bacteria. I recommend this in order to rule out any other underlying conditions. Based on the results, the veterinarian will recommend treatment. Make sure you do a lot of research before treating your dog. Fortunately for me, all test results came back good and the vet recommended a mousse (which made my dog’s skin dryer and worse). So I took matters into my own hands and did research. I first used the DERMagic Skin Rescue Lotion every day on the BALD SPOTS of my dog and I used the DERMagic Skin Rescue Grooming Spitz on the rest of the body (make sure you spit the hair open so the spray gets onto the dogs skin). After I finished applying I would put on a jump suit and washable diaper on my dog so the product stayed on and wouldn’t rub off while getting on the bed, couches, floor, etc. I used “KOESON Dog Recovery Suit, Dog Onesie” and the diaper was from PetSmart “Top Paw washable diaper.” I would do it every night and in the mornings remove diaper and jumpsuit. Instead of washing my dog once a month I washed her every two weeks. The day before bath, I would cover the dry areas with coconut oil and put on her jumpsuit and diaper for the night. Use extra virgin, organic, cold-pressed unrefined coconut oil. The next day I would wash her using “TropiClean OxyMed Hypo-Allergenic Oatmeal shampoo” then using “DERMagic organic shampoo bar (Peppermint & Tea Tree Oil),” then I would use the “DERMagic Peppermint & Tea Tree Oil Conditioner.” In time her black skin was slowly disappearing and her bald spots was growing back hair. Once she grew out a lot of hair and it looks great, I would just use the spray twice a week and brush her hair out 1-2 times a week. I will continue to wash her twice a month and will be maintaining her coat in great shape. I noticed this condition started as soon as I neglected brushing her hair weekly and now using spray. What also helped was applying salmon oil every day into her diet. I used Zesty Pawls brand. Consistency and patience is key! I’m on month three now of this hard work and it definitely paid off!

The infection didn't spread but it also didn't get better, her hair didn't grow back and the black ...
This skin lotion worked very well. My dog had some type of reaction on her leg resulting in small bald patches with black skin. I initially thought it might have been some type of mange however after a trip to a vet and a skin scrape it was ruled out. The vet said she may have had a reaction to a rabies shot. She gave me a cream and a spray however neither seemed to help much. The infection didn't spread but it also didn't get better, her hair didn't grow back and the black skin was still there. I did some research and happened upon this product, read reviews and decided to give it a try. As for the smell there aren't many medicines that smell that great but if it helps so be it. I didn't find the smell repulsive as some have said, it smells herbal. I would imagine if you had to put it over large areas of your dog the smell might be a bit odorous. It has been about two weeks and I haven't been to diligent about application, putting it on when I remember and her fur has almost completely grown back and black skin gone.

If used daily, it does a good job on black skin and hair regrowth.
Our dog has not been able to regrow some of the hair she lost on her tail. Other than that, it's a good product. Dog hates it. It smells awful, and the smell does not go away with washing your hands. It takes several hours for smell to go away.

This works fast when nothing else had
My dog was blood tested for allergies and shown to be highly allergic to grasses and dust mites among other environmental factors. Steroids, antihistamines and antibiotics gave her no relief or improvement at all so I had to do some research of my own and a holistic vet, and learned about leaky gut syndrome which I began treating her for with Nzymes. Dermagic was recommended to me to help alleviate my dog's skin, which was inflicted with black scabs, red open sores, angry red patches, and some small patches of black skin. She was very irritated and itchy. This lotion worked to remove all those black scabs and really helped take the red out of most areas on her skin and prevented her sores from getting worse. I'm in the 3rd month of treating her for a leaky gut syndrome, and from all I've read she is progressing very well although not all healed yet but this can take up to a year to clear her skin problems. I use this lotion in conjunction with the nzymes, a raw food diet, dermagic shampoo, and food based supplements (spirulina, reishi mushroom, fish oil, and MSM) to help balance immune health and reduce inflammation. It may sound a little more complicated than prednisone and antibiotics you get from most vets, but this is the only regime that's helped my dog and it's worth the little extra thought and time put in because now she's able to get around with a lot less pain and itch. EDIT/UPDATE It's been a while and I gave up on Nzymes after a year. This lotion is still great for short term use. It stopped working as the months went on, but when I stopped a month then applied again it did a good job. It doesn't take care of what causes this though but it's one of the best topical medicines I've ever used. My dog has been improved for months consistently with oral neem pills and probiotics, but I still keep DermMagic salve for any problems like a tick bite or minor cut or the occasional allergy sore that shows up.

SMELLS HORRIBLE! Pomeranian w/slow hair growth after summer haircut - placebo effect?
Gave dog a summer cut in July - (he does not have alopeciaX/black skin disease) but 6 months later and my pom still has patches (mostly body/back area) that are as short as the day they were cut - so reviews said this worked really well. The ingredients are pretty harmless - sesame oil, aloe, lanolin, sulfur, beeswax, rosemary oil, shea butter - and the unknown ingredients at the bottom of the list: tocopheryl acetate, carrageenan potassium sorbate, and citric acid. I put it on my dog - it's pretty thick - so I had to use tons of it just to get to the skin - and it basically felt like I was putting hand lotion on his coat. so most if it was in the coat, and harder to get to skin below. I also had to cover him with a little shirt - first time I cut up an old t-shirt and he didn't seem to mind - and let it sink in overnight. The directions say to apply twice daily for first week. Well - my dog is only 7 pounds, and there wouldn't be enough product to cover him but maybe 2 or 3 times total. I was game to reapply the next day, but poor baby, he stunk so bad from it - I just didn't even want to cuddle with him, or have him in bed with me... not good. He rubs all around after applied, I'm sure if it smells bad to me it really stinks to his more sensitive nose. So he got a good bath the next day. Did not reapply after bath. Gave it a few days... Strange thing is his coat does appear to be 'waking up' and growing a bit more though - not sure if its the timing (winter weather), the more frequent bathing, or just that his coat is growing naturally. I brush him religiously - sometimes 2ce a day as he sits in my lap. They say 2 years for hair/coat to grow after cut - esp. on a dense undercoat (more like fur - not hair) on dog like mine (pomeranian). The fur is a little longer in some places - So it could be working - or it could be coincidence... not sure. Anyway I decided to apply a 2nd time today - and put a doggie sweater over him so he didn't get that funky lotion all over the house. I also like Chris Christianson shampoos/conditioners. Maybe its the shampoo/conditioner that is helping - heck I don't know. I guess it was worth it to try it, but I don't expect to buy it again. Too stinky and not enough product to follow the product instructions. Funny thing - the picture on the bottle is of a pomeranian too.... ironic. Might be okay for small patches - or bald dogs - but for trying to help slow hair/fur/undercoat growth - this is not really ideal. I'd need like a gallon of this stuff to follow their instructions on the bottle. And my dog would probably hide from me everytime I called him... ! lol

Your dog & house will smell like burnt rubber
The odor is absolutely unbearable. It smells like a pile of burning tires and does not dissipate with time. I wish I was exaggerating. However, the Dermagic peppermint & tea tree oil bar soap smells great and seems to be helping my pom's alopecia. If only the lotion smelled as good as the soap.

Amazing!
My pomeranian has really dry skin and has lost most of her fur. I started off using coconut oil warmed up in a spray bottle and saturated her fur and skin every other day. This helped a lot with the initial damaged skin. It almost looked black but it slowly started peeling away and pink fresh skin was healing. Her fur started growing back where the pink skin was showing through. Although the coconut oil was helping tremendously her skin still felt dry. I bought the shampoo, conditioner, and rescue lotion. I just washed her today and used the products and her skin is baby soft. This is the best her coat has felt in months! I will update when I have more info. It does have a strong essential oil smell to it but I don't mind at all. But so far so good! Worth the buy! I hope this helps anyone with a similar issue. I highly recommend buying a doggie onsie to keep the oil or lotion or whatever on your dogs skin, out of their mouths, and off of your furniture. Goodluck!

Fast working
Often fixes my dog’s foot allergy in one use. I’ll use it and within 24 hours he feels much better. Does not have a strong smell and is really easy to use. It absorbs nicely and works fast.

Brilliant!
My German shepherd pup had an advanced case of fungal infection, demodectic mange and parvo virus. After intensive medical treatment he was left with a few bald spots with lumpy parches. After 3 days of using this, all the lumps have gone, the areas have shrunk and are smooth with new fur growth. Very impressed and relieved. C

It really is magic
Really wish I could give this product ten stars as it is fantastic. I have one dog with a flea allergy and one flea bite is enough to drive him into overdrive and he gnaws himself really badly where the welt appears from the bite making a very large raw patch but I used this for the first few days every time I saw him go towards the area and although he screamed as I put it on (it was so raw) within a minute he relaxed and you could see no more pain. I then reduced it to twice a day as per instructions. Miracle was using it so often that within five days it had completely healed and even the scabs were coming off. One to keep in the fur kid medicine cabinet.
