How to Be a Children’s Book Illustrator: A Guide to Visual Storytelling

A wonderful book with lots of tips and useful information. Some great examples from various talented artists, although not my style (it is quite cartoon-style), still lovely and helpful. As an artist myself, I believe it's always nice to see other artist's work and find some inspiration. Haven't looked through it in-depth yet, just flipped through it and it looks like it has a lot of tips on publishers, printing and character design. This is not a teaching tool which, for example, teach how to draw a character... It won't do that, it's rather a guide on the process of creating your own children's book. The book mainly aimed for those who draw for children ages 2-8 approximately, although I would imagine many people would still find it helpful and inspiring. Quality of print is fantastic, well worth the price, good amount of pages for that, though I do find the book is quite large and could have been made smaller with possibly more pages to make up for that. Otherwise, a lovely book to add to my collection.

Lovely book. I love the overall feel of the book and the quality of the paper used to print it. Plus it has many great insights into how to illustrate a children's book.

Such a beautiful book! I bought it to help me write a report, but also for my future career. It’s so easy to follow offering lots of useful advice, with some beautiful illustrations from amazing illustrators!

Can't fault the content of the book but the cover is ripped and the box it arrived in was damaged.

I love this book. It provides such rich and good information on illustrating children's books - as well as actual real cases showcasing how each professional artist deals with a story, its characters, and environment. This is now my favorite book for reference.
