The Best Of

First, I received this CD in "excellent condition" through AMAZON from Lexington, KY in a "bubble plastic envelope" "with NO damages" to the plastic CD case ! ! ! THE SONGS are "excellent memories" I have of the Lawrence Welk orchestra & singers from that time ! They brought me back to those days ! I enjoyed them very much and hope that others who have these same memories will be able to get this CD for their music collection ! I have a 1974 Pioneer SX-727 stereo receiver, a 10-band equalizer, & 4 speakers crossed in an X-pattern (two 10-inch & two 8-inch bookshelf speakers) that I played them on. And the sound quality was great ! I'm almost 70. Thank You Very Much AMAZON ! ! !

This was a gift, so the review is based on my grandma's response. Grandma thoroughly enjoyed the cd, and asked if I could buy her more from the source that I purchased this from. I sure love her, and there is nothing like hearing her humming these melodies while in the kitchen at the sink, or while loading her washing machine. So, as happy as this cd made my grandma, I will be shopping for more.

This CD takes me back to my childhood when my parents had the show on every Saturday evening and would dance for us if Mama wasn't too busy with housework (there were 7 kiddos). He would sometimes strum the guitar along with Buddy too. I love this memory-maker.

It was purchased as a gag gift for our daughter turning 50, but she actually liked it. Brought the past to the present.

Everything I hoped for! This came quickly and well packaged. the records are still in great shape and make beautiful music! Brings me back to my childhood!

Growing up, my family watched The Lawrence Welk show every Saturday evening without fail. I had not really given that fact much thought until recently, when I was browsing the music channels on my cable, and stumbled upon an easy listening channel. After two songs, I was transported to my childhood, and realized that I actually enjoy this style of music. I've come to terms with the fact that I'm just a double-knit pantsuit and a half-stick of Doublemint away from becoming my mother, so I ordered this CD.I. LOVE. IT. LOVE. It is quintessential Welk, and it even has the closing theme from the show. If you are nostalgic for "beautiful music," this is the CD for you.

This Album from the mid sixties have never been open and it plays new, Surprising the quality of the sound for a 50 year old vinyl record!

good easy music

L.Welk war mir als polkafröhliche Band in Erinnerung.Durch Zufall fand ich seine CD "The Best Of" und wurde dahingehend überrascht,daß er aucherstklassische Big Band-Musik spielte.Allein auf dieser CD befinden sich 3 Aufnahmen die die "Goldene" einspielten.Er und sein Orchester tratenlange Zeit als Showorchester im amerikanischen TV mit einer eigenen Show auf und waren sehr beliebt.L.Welk selbst spielte perfekt Akkordeon,manchmal ist das als Einlage in einigen Aufnahmen zu hören.Diese CD dürfte den Easy Listening-Hörern auch gefallen,unbedingt die Titellisteansehen(B.W.10/2016).
