For the price, not too bad.
I work with ear plugs 40 hours a week, so yeah I get build up wax like crazy, this is a cheaper option than going to the doctor,is safer than q-tips, works better than a turkey baster, and is less awkward than trying to us the shower head. Was this item perfect and ready to use? No. I took it apart cleaned of the the shipping grease, checked the gasket(I had to apply some bag bomb to it so it seal better)and it seems to work all right for me, its messy to use since the water needs to come back out of your ear, but to me its just a side effect of doing the job.

Nice syringe but a little large for self use...
We use this at home to help lavage excess wax from ears. It comes with two tips and a splash guard and the entire thing comes apart for cleaning which is great. Metal is thin but of adequate construction for its purpose. Although it has its purpose, I don't care for the tip with the rounded as it tends to block wax from exiting the ear when as the water rushes out. I believe it is intended for those who are worried about puncturing an ear drum but if you are placing the end that for in the canal you shouldn't be using it. We opt for the straight tip and find it works much better.I have only two complaints about it:1) The threads on this product are very fine and close together. It is easy to cross-thread if you aren't watching what you are doing.2) If I ordered it again I would go with a smaller size. The 4 oz size is a tad overkill and makes it hard to use yourself as its a bit awkward to use one handed despite the rings for your fingers.

Careful, can be a menace to your ears.
When I recieved this I immediately filled it with water and stuck it in my ears. Now I have either ear infections or swollen tender ears from the trauma. I should have wiped the tips down with alcohol first and not stuck it into my ears. Some people might call what I did moronic, but I prefer absent minded. The review here by Michael Fields helpfully explains how to use this, as told to him by his doctor.I find it a bit large and unwieldy for self use, but not having to actually stick it inside the ear might help. It was difficult to control the pressure because of the awkwardness of self use and it seems to be able to produce enough force to possibly damage the inside of the ears. As far as the unit itself it is sturdy, and sucks up water and squirts it out like it is supposed to. For the price it is very good quality, no complaints there.

Very high quality
I regularly have ear wax build-up so bad that I get dizzy. Ear drops and the drugstore-style squeeze bulb irrigator work, but not quite well enough for my needs--like these: ` Hand Bulb Ear Syringes- 3 oz. This product is not the same style my doctor uses; it is similar quality but more realistic to use by yourself. It is as usable as a ear syringe will be for self use. To fill, put the tip in a cup of warm water and pull back the plunger. It is then perfectly easy to clean your ear (I'm not a doctor, you can get technique advice elsewhere). After use, the back unscrews allowing the plunger to be removed which is probably necessary for the whole thing to air dry. It is chrome-plated brass so wouldn't rust if it didn't dry immediately. It comes from the factory with a bit of grease on the plunger and on the threads for smooth operation; it looks a little strange but should be sanitary. After a few uses I re-lubricated the plunger with mineral oil to good effect. This is moderately priced so you might see if your needs are met by the super cheap product. But if you want a quality product, it is well worth the money. It will obviously last a lifetime. Shipped quickly and was well packaged.** update ** Still really happy with this after a couple of years. Only one product design concern: The threads on the back are very fine and it takes some patience to not cross-thread. Not to get into Too Much Information territory, but if you are concerned about splashing water on your bathroom counter, you can use it in the shower by filling up a plastic cup with shower water (not too hot) and sucking water out of that. I usually do about three rinses on each ear.

worthless
poorly made, not worth the cost. I'm a physician and I purchased this for home use. The barrel is shipped with some lubricant, which could be dangerous if introduced into the ear. In addition, the inside base of the syringe looked like it was corroded (see photo). Again, not something that I would want to introduce into the ear. Lastly, the rubber o-ring in the shaft of the plunger does not make good contact with the barrel, so there is very poor suction and will not draw up water well. All in all, this is a poorly made product which could harm you. Avoid at all costs.

Ear Syringe
I received my Ear Syringe today in the mail came from NY. But made in Pakistan. The box was poorly made, the envelope it came in was poorly wrapped! And there was No Instructions! But, Overall I'm glad it showed up! Even without a Tracking Number which would have been even nicer!

Does the trick
First, it needs to be understood that this is not an instrument for you to use in your own ear. You can't get the correct angle. Second, if you use it on someone else you should also have an otoscope and know how to use it so you can make sure you're not doing any damage. Third, it does not come with directions because there is a certain expectation that if you're ordering medical equipment you've been trained to use it. This is the third ear syringe like this that I've gotten. I always end up giving them away to a doctor or community health worker in the developing world; and at this price, you can be generous! The syringe works well, just don't put it away wet or it will seize up on you. It was shipped super quick and arrived exactly as described. I'll probably end up buying more of them.
O**.
Its OK
I used it a couple times so far. It is hard to thread the cap because it is very fine threading and the metal is soft so cross threading is very likely to occur. Its a little clumsy to use but it gets the job done.
