Good build quailty and functionality - a great lens support for the money.
Love the flexibility of this lens holder. Yes, it seems a little bulky, and I doubt I will used the full vertical adjustment, but the bottom of the Y shaped piece also serves as a foot to keep the end of your rails off the ground. Good build quality and I really also like the two slots cut into the top of the arms of the Y piece whic allow you to use two strips of velcro to clamp the lens body to the holder. Make sure you use two pieces of velcro, as opposed to one, with the joins positioned at top dead center, over the top of the lens, so that you can undo BOTH layers to get the lens free quickly. Components used to built my DSLR video cage rig: Smallrig 1750 - Professional Camera cage Smallrig 922 - 90 degree Rod Clamp Railblock for Side Handles Smallrig 1784 - Universal Lens Support with 15mm LWS Rod Clamp Smallrig 1674 - Low Profile Base Plate with Rod Rail Clamp Smallrig 870 - 2 of SmallRig 15mm Carbon Fiber Rod - 20cm 8inch Long Complanate Surface (non-thread, Pack of 2) Smallrig 1061 - 2 of DSLR Camera Rod Handle, Leather Grip with 15mm Rod Clamp ( Black) Smallrig 1053 - Aluminum Alloy 15mm Rods 30cm 12inch Long (M12-30cm) (Pack of 2) Haoge 50mm QR Quick Release Clamp Adapter with 60mm Plate (Compatible with Arca-Swiss Standard) Fotyrig Camera Top Handle Cheese Handle Grip with Cold Shoe Mount I also made sure to get some 1/4" to 1/4 and 1/4" to 3/8" threaded screw adapters to fix things to the cage Total came to a little over $320, but I now have a completely bespoke rig that feels completely right to me (despite being a novice), and I've had good feedback from others who have seen it regarding functionality and stability. I need to add a little more to give me a shoulder rest. but overall I'm stoked with the end result! I specifically put a QR clamps inside the cage, under the camera, to make releasing the camera easier without having to disassemble the whole cage. I use the cold shoe to lock the top of the camera to the top plate of the cage and increase rigidity, but this does make removal a little more involved. I then attached the ARCA plate from the QR clamp underneath the cage such that I can instantly clamp the rig into a tripod if I need to do a panning shot etc. The 8" carbon rods are used for the handles - one 16" rod, split in the middle, that sits in the handle clamp but come out without having to take one handle off the rig. Handles stow for a reduced footprint when packing away. Please like this review if you found the information here helpful. Thanks!

I am truly impressed with the performance and durability of the equipment, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend this brand to any photographers looking to elevate their craft and capture stunning images. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and would not hesitate to buy from this brand again in the future.

Works great!
After building a cinema rig, I realized my large lens wasn’t being supported by anything and this provided that support and took the weight off the camera lens mount.

Great item, but you probably want the shorter version
This is another quality product from Smallrig. Though most of their products have a nice for and finish, they do vary. This is one of the slicker (newer?) Units. I can't help but think that a version with rollers would be better, but I can see it could have it's drawbacks as well. The truth is, this support is very long. In my rig, it protrudes between my rails and sticks out the bottom too far. It interferes with my mounting plate on the tripod head. I should have measured and bought the short one that is offered. In a side note. The ratcheting wing nuts on Smallrig products are svelte, but they are not very comfortable. Not a big issue until you use some comfy ones.

Very good but beware of you have a lens that increases in diameter towards the business end.
Wanted to support a 24-70 EF zoom lens rather than have the whole weight on the camera mount ring (actually it's on a Viltrox M43 to EF). Even with the Viltrox on its provided mount screwed to the baseplate there's not enough clearance from the rods to the lens body to fit in the lens support, so I had to add a cheeseplate to make it work. So now the assembly is Viltrox mount/cheeseplate/baseplate with rods/tripod quick-release plate and is a bit more Heath Robinson than I'd like but it's solid when all the screws are tight. And the lens support it good quality with loads of up/down adjustment.
