I bought this for my husbsnds wood turning. He absolutely loves that he doesnt have to buy oil .just soak the stone in water and away he goes to sharpen his carbide tips. He actually said this was one of our best buys on amazon yet!!!!

I’m a beginner at knife sharpening so I didn’t want to spend a lot of money just to see if I could sharpen my dull knives. Although my technique isn’t perfect, I was able to restore the edges on several old but high quality knives that I own. To me the angle guide is useless and I would have liked at least rudimentary instructions with the set. However, there are enough instructional videos on YouTube to learn how use whetstones properly. I also have a set of steak knives that I thought I would have to replace and now they are sharp. I don’t foresee having to upgrade from this set. It does the job.

The sharpening stones set is great and easy to use. It restored my Japanese knife razor sharp. It contains 400/1000 and 3000/8000 grit water stones, two flattening stones, non-slip bamboo base, angle guide. It's a good option for those seriously getting into sharpening.

I received my order with the box damaged. The main 1800 white stone is chipped under plastic and spreading its pieces within the plastic. The little white block has a crack throughout it. The plastics is keeping it together. I got this for my boyfriend as a gift and he has not used it yet. He doesn’t want to use it with a chip on the side of it or for it to spread everywhere or break more. I email the seller a month ago and still no response. We are pretty disappointed BC we were looking forward to using this sharping set. Everything else looks great. I just would love replacements so my boyfriend and I can sharpen everything up .

This kit works well and has all the essential elements. The blade guard helps get you use to the proper angle but it’s easier to go without once you get the hang of it. After using for awhile I can get as professional an edge as when my wife takes her knives out for sharpening. Highly recommend.

The stones are very good, the glue holding two of them together came apart and the rubber that goes around the brick is torn - those are you only compliant or issue.

Real nice stones. I like them a lot and they sharpen my knives very good.

Would like to have an instruction manual included. Apparently this kit is more for the professional, rather than the occasional person who needs to sharpen a kitchen knife.
