Satisfied with this product
Works great lets me know all the info I need to know from how many watts my solar panels are bringing in to the percentage of the battery. the bluetooth range is decent it works up to10-12feet. The device itself is pretty small, won’t take up much if any room, It also comes with a thermometer to check the batterys temperature which was nice. The quality seems good so far. You do have to download an app to use this product but that wasn’t an issue, It was very easy to hook up to my battery and use. overall I’m pretty happy with the product

Nice product
Renogy has nice products but they lack in experienced service reps/techs, they told me to ask them any questions on how to use their devices i purchased, this was for a solar dc to dc dual input charger/controller. Told me no on my setup and that i couldn't use their device but they sold it to me anyway. I got my answer from people on Quara forums sadly and not Renogy. All i wanted to do was a standard RV with aux battery setup but i have a dc power supply/charger unit for lead acid i use for my agm bank 120amp smart charger and it works great on my setup it charges my agm bank and powers the Renogy with zero issues using the alternator side of the charger keeping the lithium separate from agm bank. Why they had to make it so hard for me to figure out is beyond me must be a script reader answering tech questions. Bad support great product, well so far it seems great.

Review of the Renogy BT-1 Bluetooth Module
This Renogy BT-1 Bluetooth Module is a must-have accessory for anyone with a compatible Renogy charge controller. It's an absolute game-changer for monitoring your solar power system. The setup is incredibly simple-it just plugs into the RJ12 port on the controller. Once connected, it syncs seamlessly with the Renogy DC Home app on your phone. This gives you instant access to all your system's data without having to be right next to the controller. You can check battery voltage, charging status, and daily energy production from anywhere. It's a huge convenience and makes managing your solar setup much easier. If you want to keep an eye on your power system without the hassle of a physical display, this module is an excellent investment.

Can be annoying
I have a Renogy charge controller and decided to get the BT module so I could monitor charge status away from the main display. The app, I am not impressed with, it can be quite annoying. I get random disconnections, have to restart it sometimes as it just freezes and a few other things, and this is not miles away, this is all within 30ft. I am sure the module is fine, it is the app that is a mess. When it works, it works, but when it does not it gets real annoying fast. Just FYI...

Plug and play, makes monitoring much easier
Quick summary: this Bluetooth adapter is simple to install, configure, and use. The information it provides to a phone is very useful and much more convenient than going and looking at the charge controller. More detailed review: I have a Renogy Wanderer 10A charge controller, 50 watt panel, and a LiFePo4 battery to provide 12V power for lighting and a small fan in my shed. I wanted to be able to check on the system and verify it was working correctly without needing to go out in the shed and directly look at the controller, so I purchased this Bluetooth adapter. Connection is simple: it uses a modular connector identical to those used in landline telephones, so it’s literally plug and play. Pairing with Bluetooth on a 2020 iPhone SE is quick and easy, as is using the app. It provides all the real-time status in a convenient and useful layout. The range is enough to go about 30 feet through the shed and house walls. I did test it up to 100 feet away with no obstructions, but it was not able to communicate with my phone at that range. I suspect the range estimates are idealized and somewhat overstated. Useful feature: if the controller’s output is set to manually switch the load on and off when the Enter button is pressed, you can remotely switch the load terminals using the app. The only downsides seem to be related to my charge controller, not the Bluetooth adapter. The controller is extremely basic and doesn’t do any internal data logging or storage at all beyond saving the settings. Thus, the only information it outputs is just the real time status, which the Bluetooth adapter faithfully transmits. The app is capable of many features that this particular controller is not, such as renaming the controller and logging historical data about power generation, consumption, battery state and voltage, etc. I presume more advanced Renogy controllers would be capable of logging and sending that data, though I wish the app would hide the fields and options that the controller doesn’t support. Bottom line: if you have a Renogy controller and want to monitor it without needing to directly look at its display, this Bluetooth adapter is the way to go. In my case, the controller cost less than the Bluetooth adapter, but getting the adapter was definitely the right choice.

Great add-on for Renogy charge controllers
I added this to our rover solar charge controller and it works great. I can monitor battery usage and incoming solar power anytime I’m within Bluetooth range and it has been extremely useful. Installation takes two seconds to plug it in and it’s on.

This adapter complements the Renergy Wanderer 30 Li charge controller I purchased. I recommend purchasing the adapter for this charge controller due to there being no display, just some flashing LEDs for status. The adapter seems to work well. The lead is very long. I assume is is so it can be mounted a considerable distance away from the controller if the controller was mounted in an electrical cabinet. In my situation the charge controller is mounted directly on my folding solar panels so there was no need for such a long lead. The app is OK but not great. On Android as soon as the app loses focus it needs to be reconnected. To do this the app must be closed and reopened. I found the BT range on the adapter is fairly standard for BT: about 5m, maybe a little further.

Renogy really sucks, this device makes things dissapear and non responsive. I have to plug my bt2 directly into certain devices to get them back communicating. Good concept but in practice it just isnt reliable for multiple charge controllers.
