Consistent flame, Torch head doesn’t lock onto butane canister.
I use this for jewelry making and found the torch provided a consistent flame and operated well, did not flare or have inconsistent flame. However, the torch head doesn’t lock onto the butane canister, and sometimes rotates when I am operating it.

Worked great at first.
I wish this product continued to work as well as it did for the first week. I am a metal smith and wanted a butane torch that could solder larger pieces of metal without having a bulking system. This did the job, but something is faulty with it now. I did leave the product on a butane canister for a week without unscrewing it. The directions tell you to unscrew it and put the lid on. My mistake. I was out of my studio for about a week and when I returned I could smell a gas. The canister reads that they had a scent for you to detect when there is a leak. However, I don’t think that should have ruined the Handy Flame. Now whenever I try to twist the Handy Flame onto a new canister (have tried with three different canisters) it doesn’t twist on right and I can hear and smell leaking butane like a hiss. I went and read other reviews closer to see some others had pretty scary encounters with this. I really wish this wasn’t the case because it was working so well for me before.

DON'T LEAVE ON CAN.
I used this torch in the kitchen. I liked the idea of a torch with replaceable head, instead of refilling with a secondary can (which never seems to work quite right). It worked really well at first. After several uses, I left the burner top on the can - a week or so later, my wife smelled 'gas' in the house. Turned out to be the Butane can leaking out through this burner top, which must have a disintegratable valve or gasket somewhere. So, lesson learned:This seems to be a decent product, but DONT leave it on the butane can - remove it after every use!!

Heat that you need
This is an exact replacement for my old torch that finally wore out! The previous one lasted some 15 years so I’m sure this will serve me as well as the last one.

Perfect torch head for small jewelry projects.
Whether you use this in your jewelry studio or to make creme brûlée this is a perfect idea. No more refilling a micro torch from a butane can. Instead just pop the torch head onto a new butane cylinder. My only negative is that this fits a larger butane can. It won't work with the small ones. You can get the correct size from Amazon, or I found some at the local Academy.

Faulty torch after very little use.
The torch worked fine. I used it about 10 times since I bought it. All my jewelers said it was a fine tool. When I fire it up the last time it failed to light. The flame regulator didn't seem to adjust...light a flame. No flame. Ten minutes before it worked just fine.I feel Amazon and Eurotool needs to know about their faulty torch.

Butane Torch cap
I LOVE THIS! I used it once in a class and could not wait to get one myself. It is so easy to use. I do not know what the lifespan is, it would depend on how often you used it. I have had this same one. I just wipe it off and store it attached to the can. But then I do not have small children in my home
