of two of the earlier Oz novels (I am in the middle of reading or rereading Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz- #5- the second of those enjoyably adapted here, but didn’t remember a fair amount of this plot :))

All these that I keep ordering come bent. It’s very frustrating.

I am a life-long fan of Oz. I also am a huge fan of O'Neil and Shadower's styles of depicting Oz in art. So I'm sorry to say I avoided Skottie's graphic novels for longer than I should have. I was missing a treat! The art is fresh and very expressive. The stories are true to the originals while managing to smoothly pave over the bits that, while normal in Baum's era, are questionable or irritating to a modern audience's sensibilities. These books are definitely deserving a place in every Ozphile's library. I'm so glad they're been compiled into these collections.
