Boy, cat and cardboard boxes reach for the stars
Amazing 83 pages, no less, of amusingly detailed full colour pictures with illustrations that tell a bit more story than the easy-to-read text about a boy and his cat making an extraordinarily elaborate rocket out of cardboard boxes. Size and format - about 5 x 8 inches - make this a really good transitional story from little child's floppy picture book towards 'proper' story to encourage newer readers. It just happens to have fun pictures throughout too. Read with an adult (particularly one willing to find some boxes and sticky tape) or child can explore on their own, with ginger cat Oscar, turning up on every page.

"Best book ever"
"Best book ever" is my 5 year old Son's review of Rocket Boy. He's already planning his rocket construction and adventure around the planets.

Perfect for new readers.
This super early reader is a complete treat for children who are learning to enjoy and read books on their own.Callum is clearly space mad. He manages to turn a trip to the supermarket and tea with his mum into outer space experiences and quizzes. When his mum has new furniture delivered and just wants a bit of time to herself to assemble it all, she sends Callum upstairs to play with the empty packaging boxes. Little does she know that Cullum is about to turn the boxes into a rocket ship that will take him and his cat Oscar on a journey to Mars. This charming story not only celebrates all things space related but also embraces the fantastic creativity and imagination children have when given the chance.Highly illustrated in full colour, there is plenty for a young reader to investigate and enjoy as they navigate this really lovely book.
